On Wednesday morning at the District Council of Coober Pedy Council Chamber, Her Excellency the Governor and Mr Bunten met for breakfast with Mr Geoff Sheridan, Principal Administrator; Ms Erika Vickery OAM and Mr John Moyle, Support Administrators, District Council of Coober Pedy.

Afterwards, at the District Council of Coober Pedy Council Chamber, the Governor and Mr Bunten met with community members for a morning tea before the Governor officially opened the Council Meeting.

Later the Governor and Mr Bunten visited the Coober Pedy Area School, where they met Mr Maurice Saah, Principal, and Ms Veronika Whitham, Assistant Principal, followed by a tour of the school, a meet and greet with students, and a morning tea with school staff.

Afterwards the Governor and Mr Bunten met with Mr Nick and Mrs Sabrina Troisi, owner operators of the Umoona Opal Mine and Museum and Quest Mine, before touring the mines and museum.

In the afternoon, the Governor and Mr Bunten met for lunch with the Administrators of the District Council of Coober Pedy, members of Coober Pedy Together, and members of the Umoona Community Council.

In the evening, at Government House, the Governor and Mr Bunten, as joint patrons of Zoos SA, hosted a reception to acknowledge the work of Zoos SA volunteers.
