On Tuesday morning, Her Excellency the Governor and Mr Bunten continued their official visit to the Clare Valley, where, first at Clare High School and then at St Joseph’s School, they met students and staff.

Later, at Sevenhill, the Governor and Mr Bunten met Mr Christian Fraser, General Manager, Sevenhill Wines, and toured the facility.

In the afternoon, at Watervale, the Governor and Mr Bunten met Mr William Bowles, Governance Officer, Watervale Community Association, and toured The Vale – Watervale Community Centre, including a community lunch with Association members.

Afterwards, at Taylors Wines, Auburn, the Governor and Mr Bunten met Mr Andy Carroll, Operations Manager, and Mr Adam Eggins, Wine Maker, and toured the new facilities.

Later, at the Gleeson Wetlands, Clare, the Governor and Mr Bunten met Mr Allan Mayfield and other members of the Clare Lions Club and toured the wetlands.

In the evening, at the Watervale Hotel, the Governor and Mr Bunten met Mr Warrick Duthy, the owner, before attending a dinner with Clare and Gilbert Valleys Council elected members and staff. Guests were Mayor Allan Aughey OAM; Mr Andrew Aitken, Interim Chief Executive Officer; Cr Leon Bruhn; Cr Ann Alder; Cr Ian Burfitt and Ms Deb Hall; Cr Elizabeth Calvert; Cr Brian Koch and Mrs Carolyn Koch; Cr Jeannine Naughton; and Cr David Willson.

During the day, students from the Thebarton Senior College – New Arrival Program toured Government House; and students from Margaret Lohmeyer Kindergarten held a picnic in the grounds.
