On Tuesday morning, Her Excellency the Governor continued her official visit to the Southern Flinders Ranges at Peterborough High School, where she met Ms Sue Burtenshaw, Principal, Ms Lauren Lawson, Deputy Principal, and Peterborough High School staff and student leaders.
Also in the morning, at Hindmarsh, Mr Bunten undertook voluntary work with Meals on Wheels.
Afterwards, at the Steamtown Heritage Rail Centre, the Governor was conducted on a tour by Ms Shirley Edmonds, Manager, and Mr Dave Drummond, Coordinator, Steamtown Heritage Rail Centre, followed by a visit to the Peterborough Printworks Museum, where she was conducted on a tour by Mrs Joyce Collom, President, Ms Mary Zimmermann, Vice-Chair, and Ms Judy Evans, Secretary, Peterborough History Group.
Later, at the District Council of Peterborough Town Hall, the Governor toured the facility, followed by a luncheon hosted by the District Council of Peterborough. Guests were Ms Ruth Whittle OAM, Mayor, and Mr David Whittle, Mrs Leanne Babic, Chief Executive Officer, District Council of Peterborough, and Mr Ante Babic.
In the afternoon, at the Orroroo Town Hall, the Governor met Mr Henry Inat, Acting Chief Executive Officer, Mr Ralph Goehring, Deputy Mayor, and Councillors Mrs Kathie Bowman, Mrs Joylene Ford, Mr Colin Parkyn, and Mrs Jessica Watson, District Council of Orroroo Carrieton, who accompanied the Governor on a tour of the council area, including the new 23-allotment residential subdivision, the Orroroo Recreation Ground, Black Rock Woolpress, Giant Gum Tree, Goyder’s Line Monument, and Lion’s Park.
Afterwards, at the Orroroo Town Hall, the Governor attended an afternoon tea hosted by the District Council of Orroroo Carrieton. Guests included elected members, and representatives from sporting clubs, service groups, emergency services, and community members.
In the evening, at the Commercial Hotel Motel Orroroo, the Governor had dinner with Mr Henry Inat, Mr Ralph Goehring, Mrs Megan Goehring, and Ms Telia Goehring.
