On Tuesday, Her Excellency the Governor continued her official visit to the State’s South East, where, in the morning, she met with students and staff from Naracoorte High School.
Afterwards, in Naracoorte, the Governor met with Mr Darren Turner, Managing Director, Mini Jumbuk, and Brett Woods, Chief Executive, where she received a tour of the facility and was briefed on operations.
Later, the Governor undertook a driving tour of Naracoorte, where she viewed the Naracoorte Regional Livestock Exchange and the Country Fire Service (CFS) Memorial for Fallen Firefighters.
Afterwards, at the Naracoorte Library, the Governor met Mr Patrick Ross, Mayor, Naracoorte Lucindale Council and Mr Trevor Smart, Chief Executive Officer, Naracoorte Lucindale Council, for a morning tea and a briefing on operations.
Later, in Lucindale, the Governor met with students and staff from Lucindale Area School.
In the afternoon, in Kingston, the Governor met with students and staff from Kingston Community School.
Afterwards, at the Kingston District Council, the Governor met with Mr Jeff Pope, Mayor, Kingston District Council; Mr Ian Hart, Chief Executive Officer, Kingston District Council; Councillor Jamie Parkins; Councillor Fiona Rasheed; Councillor Bill Armfield; Councillor James Starling; Councillor Chris England; Councillor Carol Koch; and Councillor Tim Harding, where she was briefed on operations.
Later, in Kingston, the Governor, accompanied by Mr Pope and Mr Hart, met with Mrs Alison Stillwell OAM, Kingston SE Branch of the National Trust representative, and Professor Irene Watson, First Nations representative, where she was briefed on the Kingston SE Branch of the National Trust and Kingston’s First Nations ‘Telling the Whole Story – Rewriting the Maria monument’ project.
Afterwards, the Governor, accompanied by Mr Pope and Mr Hart, met with Mr Daryl Morley, Kingston SE Lions Club President, and Ms Clair Lomman, Kingston SE Lions Club Secretary, where she toured the Lions Club Community Thrift Shop, before undertaking a driving tour throughout Kingston.
Later, the Governor departed Kingston for Adelaide.
