On Thursday morning, Her Excellency the Governor presided over a meeting of the Executive Council.
Afterwards, the Governor and Mr Bunten undertook a visit to the City of Charles Sturt, where they met with Ms Angela Evans, Mayor, and Mr Paul Sutton, Chief Executive Officer, who accompanied the Governor and Mr Bunten during their visit.
Later, in Woodville, the Governor and Mr Bunten visited MacTaggart Scott Australia, where they met with Mr Scott Woollatt, Engineering Manager; Ms Denise Power, Administration Manager; and Ms Selma Barlow, Coordinator Economic Development, City of Charles Sturt, toured the facility, and were briefed on operations.
Afterwards, in Kilburn, the Governor and Mr Bunten visited the Central Adelaide Waste Recycling Authority, where they met Mr Adrian Ralph, Acting Chief Executive Officer, and Ms Fiona Chambers, Manager Strategy and Programs, and toured the material recovery facility.
Later, in West Beach, the Governor and Mr Bunten met with Mr Graeme Cunningham, President; Mr Peter Taylor, Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Education Program (CALD) Manager; and Mr Paul Rafanelli, Volunteer, Pink and Blue Swim, Walk or Run Event, West Beach Surf Life Saving Club, followed by a lunch.
In the afternoon, the Governor and Mr Bunten visited Ngutungka West Lakes Library, and met with Mr Adam Filipi, Acting General Manager City Services; Ms Bec Lyons, Manager Community Connections; and Mr Tom Brooker, Activator, City of Charles Sturt, toured the library and community centre, and participated in a discussion about the City of Charles Sturt’s reconciliation initiatives.
Afterwards, at the Bearded Dragon Gallery, the Governor officially launched the Community Bridging Services exhibition ‘Organic Visions’, held as part of the South Australian Living Artists (SALA) Festival.
In the evening, at Government House, the Governor hosted a dinner for members of Chief Executive Women and their guests.
