On Thursday morning, in Adelaide, Her Excellency the Governor, as patron of the Committee for Adelaide, addressed the guests at the Committee’s panel to discuss the 2024 International Women’s Day theme: “Accelerating Gender Equality Through Economic Empowerment”.
Afterwards, at Government House, the Governor presided over a meeting of the Executive Council.
Later, at North Brighton, the Governor and Mr Bunten they toured Brighton Secondary School and took questions from the students.
In the afternoon, at the Bicentennial Conservatory, the Governor and Mr Bunten attended the official opening of the Create4Adelaide Exhibition, part of the Adelaide Festival.
Afterwards, at Government House, the Governor, accompanied by Mr Bunten, hosted and presented the 2023 Governor’s Multicultural Awards.
In the evening, at Morphettville, the Governor, as patron of the South Australian Jockey Club, and Mr Bunten, attended the Wolf Blass “The Man” Event Centre Gala Opening.
The grounds of Government House will be open to the public today (Friday 1 March) as part of the “Lunch on the Lawns” program, including a garden tour conducted by The Friends of the Botanic Gardens of Adelaide, of which the Governor and Mr Bunten are joint patrons, music provided by the Marryatville High School String Quartet.
