On Thursday, Her Excellency the Governor and Mr Bunten departed Adelaide for an official visit to the South‑East.

In the morning, at Hynam, the Governor and Mr Bunten visited Teys Australia Naracoorte, where they met Mr Sage Murray, General Manager Operations, toured the facility and were briefed on operations.

Afterwards, at Coonawarra, the Governor and Mr Bunten visited Zema Estate, where they met Mr David Wolard, Teys livestock buyer, and received a briefing on the cattle operations.

In the afternoon, at Millicent, the Governor and Mr Bunten laid a wreath for the commemoration of the centenary of the Millicent Cross of Sacrifice War Memorial, and, afterwards, hosted a dinner with Wattle Range Council and RSL Millicent Sub‑Branch members. Guests were Mr Des Noll OAM, His Worship the Mayor, and Mr Ben Gower, Chief Executive Officer, Wattle Range Council; and Mr Chris Mathias, President, Mr Richard Taylor, Secretary, and Mr Dieter Scheuller and Mr Bruce Clayson, Committee Members, RSL Millicent Sub Branch.

In the evening, at Kangaroo Inn, the Governor, accompanied by Mr Bunten, addressed the guests at the Kangaroo Inn Area School’s annual presentation night.

Her Excellency the Governor has appointed The Honourable Chief Justice Chris Kourakis to be Governor’s Deputy from 7:45am on Thursday, 23 November 2023 until 12pm on Friday, 24 November 2023.
