On Thursday morning at Government House, Her Excellency the Governor presided over a meeting of the Executive Council.
Afterwards in Gilles Plains, the Governor, as Patron of the Royal Society for the Blind of SA, accompanied by Mr Rod Bunten, toured the Society’s Guide and Assistance Dog Service, and officially opened the new kitchen facility.
Later, at the KPMG Building, the Governor, accompanied by Mr Bunten, addressed the gathering at the Emerging Leaders’ Boardroom Luncheon, hosted by the Committee for Adelaide.
In the afternoon at Government House, the Governor received, from the University of Adelaide, Professor Mike Young, Professor Emeritus in Energy, Water and Environmental Policy, and Professor Peter Draper, Executive Director of the Institute for International Trade.
After the Governor received the Right Honourable Anne-Marie Trevelyan MP, United Kingdom Secretary of State for International Trade, Her Excellency Mrs Vicki Treadell CMG MVO, British High Commissioner to Australia, and Mr Stephen Lysaght, British Consul-General in Melbourne.
Later the Governor received Mr Chris Beattie, Chief Officer and Chief Executive, South Australian State Emergency Service.
In the evening at Her Majesty’s Theatre, the Governor and Mr Bunten attended a State Opera of South Australia performance ‘La Traviata’.
