On Sunday morning at the Adelaide Botanic Gardens, the Governor, as patron of the Australian-American Association in South Australia, placed a wreath at a commemorative service to mark the 80th anniversary of the Battle of the Coral Sea, followed by a luncheon in the afternoon at Stepney.

Afterwards at Unley, the Governor attended a football match between Sturt and Norwood.
