On Saturday morning at Government House, Her Excellency the Governor presided over a meeting of the Executive Council, dissolved the House of Assembly and issued writs for a General Election to be held on 19 March 2022.

In the evening at Mile End, the Governor, as patron of Athletics South Australia, accompanied by Mr Bunten, presented medals at the 2022 State Track and Field Championships President's function.
