On Monday morning, Her Excellency the Governor departed for an official visit to the Southern Mallee and Karoonda East Murray Councils, where, at Lameroo, she visited Lameroo Regional Community School for a tour and conversation with the students.
Afterwards, at Lameroo, the Governor met Mr Ron Valentine, Mayor and Mr Mark McShane, Acting Chief Executive Officer, Southern Mallee District Council, followed by a luncheon hosted by the Council. Guests included elected members, council staff, Service Club representatives, business owners and community members.
Later, the Governor, accompanied by Mr Valentine and Mr McShane, visited the Lameroo Swimming Pool and was briefed on upgrades, followed by a walking tour of the Lameroo township, including Silo Art Project, Playground – Main Street Projects, and the Museum and Craft Shop, where they met Ms Carol Haskell, Member, Craft Shop and Lameroo and Districts Historical Society.
Afterwards, the Governor departed for Pinnaroo, where she visited Pinnaroo Primary School and the Pinnaroo Childcare Centre and was briefed on operations.
Later, at Pinnaroo, the Governor met Ms Julie Wallis and Ms Deb Colwill, Co-Chairs, The Pinnaroo Project, and was briefed on the initiative, and, afterwards, visited the Mallee Tourist and Heritage Centre and was briefed on operations, before departing for Karoonda.
In the evening, at the Train Carriage, Pioneer Park, the Governor attended a dinner hosted by the District Council of Karoonda East Murray. Guests were Ms Caroline Phillips, Mayor of the District Council of Karoonda East Murray, and Mr Troy Phillips, and Mr Scott Reardon, Chief Executive Officer, District Council of Karoonda East Murray, and Mrs Michelle Reardon.
