On Monday morning, at the Adelaide Hills Convention Centre, Hahndorf, Her Excellency the Governor officially opened the 2024 Thriving Women Conference, hosted by Women Together Learning.

In the afternoon, at Government House, the Governor hosted a luncheon for members of the 2024 Governor’s Multicultural Awards panel. Guests were His Honour Judge Rauf Soulio AM, Chair, and panel members The Honourable John Sulan KC; Ms Karen Ashford, Head of Media and Reputation, Media and Communications, Flinders University; Ms Sonya Feldhoff, Presenter, ABC Radio; Ms Helena Kyriazopoulos OAM, Chief Executive Officer, Multicultural Communities Council of SA; Ms Luisa Greco, Chair, South Australian Multicultural Commission; and Mr Amarjit Grewal, Member, South Australian Multicultural Commission.

Afterwards, the Governor hosted an afternoon tea for industry and government personnel who supported her recent visit to the Kingdom of Thailand and the United Kingdom.

In the evening, the Governor and Mr Bunten hosted a dinner for Mr Junji Shimada, Consul-General of Japan, and Mrs Kaoru Shimada. Guests were Mr Adam Wynn, Honorary Consul-General of Japan in South Australia, and Mrs Tomono Wynn; Emeritus Professor Purnendra Jain, Adelaide University, and Mrs Indu Jain; Mr Chris Wood, Executive Director, Invest SA, Department for Trade and Investment; Mr Mack Wilson, Chair, Australia Japan Business Council of South Australia; and Mr Takaaki Toden, Principal, Adelaide Japanese Community School.
