In the morning, at Government House, Her Excellency the Governor received Dr Richard Harris SC OAM, Lieutenant Governor of South Australia.
Afterwards, the Governor received Ms Emma Fey, Acting Director, Art Gallery of South Australia.
Also in the morning, the Governor and Mr Bunten welcomed members of the public to the grounds of Government House for “Lunch on the Lawns”, with music provided by The Tea Tree Gully Redbacks Concert Band and Marching Band , and including a garden tour conducted by The Friends of the Botanic Gardens of Adelaide, of which Her Excellency the Governor and Mr Bunten are joint patrons.
Afterwards, the Governor received His Excellency Mr Gopal Baglay, High Commissioner for India to Australia; Ms Irina Thakur, Deputy High Commissioner; and Mr Niravkumar B Sutariya, Consul and Head of Chancery, Consulate-General of India in Sydney, followed by a luncheon at which the other guests were Mr Tim White, Director, Trade, Department of State Development; and Mr Mark Horton, Acting Director Protocol and Diplomatic Relations, Department of the Premier and Cabinet.
Later, the Governor held a virtual meeting with Ms Danielle Wood, Chair, Productivity Commission.
Afterwards, at Flinders University City Campus, the Governor addressed the gathering at the official opening of the Matthew Flinders Coffin Plate Display.
Her Excellency the Governor has appointed Dr Richard Harris SC OAM to be Governor’s Deputy from 7:00pm on Friday, 7 February 2025 to 10:30am on Wednesday, 12 February 2025.
