Congratulatory message from the Governor of South Australia
South Australian residents who are celebrating a significant birthday or wedding anniversary can receive a congratulatory message from the Governor of South Australia.
Applications for congratulatory letters
Applications in writing for congratulatory letters to mark golden (50th), diamond (60th) and 70th wedding anniversaries, and 100th, 105th and 110th birthdays are welcome from family or friends.
Requests for messages are managed by the Department of Premier and Cabinet, which also arrange for messages to be sent by His Majesty The King, the Governor-General, the Premier, and the State and Federal Leaders of the Opposition.
Timing
To ensure a congratulatory message is received on time, applications should be submitted no less than two months and no more than six months prior to the date of the birthday or wedding anniversary.
Documentary evidence
The request must be submitted with documentary evidence of the birthday or wedding anniversary, such as a birth certificate, marriage certificate or statutory declaration.
