Visit to the Adelaide Plains
On Wednesday, 26 August 2020, His Excellency the Governor undertook a visit to the Adelaide Plains.
In the morning at the Mallala Council Chambers, the Governor met with His Worship Mr Mark Wasley, Mayor, and Mr James Miller, Chief Executive Officer, Adelaide Plains Council, who then accompanied the Governor during his visit.
Afterwards the Governor visited the Mallala Men’s Shed and met with community members and viewed their current projects.
Later at Thompson Beach, the Governor visited the Adelaide International Bird Sanctuary National Park - Winaityinaityi Pangkara and met with park rangers and volunteers.
In the afternoon at Dublin, the Governor toured the processing facility of Greenwheat Freekah, before returning to the Council Chambers at Mallala for a function with Mayor Wasley, Councillors and council staff.
Afterwards the Governor visited the Northern Adelaide Irrigation Scheme at Two Wells and viewed the SA Water operated lagoon.
Afterwards the Governor viewed the township and the Two Wells Education Hub, Xavier College at the Liberty Development; followed by a viewing and briefing on the transformation of the Two Wells Main Street public realm before returning to Government House.
