On Thursday afternoon His Excellency the Governor returned to Adelaide following his overseas visit to Bangkok and Hong Kong.

In the morning in Adelaide, His Excellency the Honourable Chief Justice Chris Kourakis, as Governor’s Deputy, hosted a morning tea followed by a tour of Government House for the Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara (APY) Board and Management.

On Wednesday His Excellency the Governor continued the Hong Kong leg of his overseas visit to promote South Australia, however severe local weather conditions caused by Typhoon Hato forced cancellation of much of his program. 

During the day students from St Pius School toured Government House.

On Tuesday morning, continuing his overseas travel to Thailand and Hong Kong to promote South Australia, His Excellency departed Bangkok for Hong Kong.

In the evening at Ocean Park, to which South Australia gifted koalas in 2015, the Governor was hosted by Mr Matthias Li, Chief Executive Officer. 

In the morning at Government House Adelaide, His Excellency the Honourable Chief Justice Chris Kourakis, as Governor’s Deputy, presided over a meeting of the Executive Council.

On Monday morning in Bangkok, at the commencement of his overseas trip to Thailand and Hong Kong to promote South Australia, His Excellency the Governor addressed delegates of the South Australia trade mission. 

He afterwards met with His Excellency Mr Paul Robilliard, Australian Ambassador to the Kingdom of Thailand. 

The Governor then travelled to the Royal Palace to sign the condolence book for the His late Majesty King Rama IX.

In the afternoon, the Governor met with representatives of Thai Airways International and Adelaide Airport.

In the evening the Governor attended a reception and dinner for members of the South Australia Club.

On Friday morning at the Torrens Parade Ground, His Excellency the Governor and Mrs Le placed a wreath at a commemoration of the Battle of Long Tan and the Vietnam War, organised by The Royal Australian Regiment Association SA.

In the afternoon at the Adelaide Convention Centre, the Governor, who is patron of Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia (South Australia and Northern Territory), attended the annual Friday Long Lunch.

Afterwards the Governor addressed the guests at the Global Health Conference of the Australian Medical Students' Association.

Later at Government House, the Governor and Mrs Le hosted a reception for clients and volunteers of Rubys, Uniting Communities.

In the evening at the Adelaide Oval, the Governor attended Chairman of the Adelaide Football Club’s pre-match function and football game between Adelaide and Sydney.

On Thursday afternoon at Government House, His Excellency the Governor, who is patron of the Leaders Institute of South Australia, received Ms Alexandrea Cannon, Board Chair and Ms Cathie Brown, Chief Executive Officer.

Also in the afternoon Mrs Le hosted an afternoon tea followed by a tour of the grounds for members of the Australian Retired Persons Association gardening group.

In the evening the Governor and Mrs Le hosted a dinner for Her Excellency Mrs Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović, President of Croatia.

On Wednesday morning His Excellency the Governor received the Honourable Michael Atkinson MP, Speaker of the House of Assembly.

In the evening the Governor and Mrs Le hosted a reception for the presentation of awards to the Endeavour Australia Cheung Kong Awards Scholars.

Afterwards the Governor and Mrs Le hosted a dinner on the occasion of the visit of Mr HL Kam, Group Managing Director, Cheung Kong Infrastructure Holdings.

On Tuesday morning at Government House, His Excellency the Governor presided over a meeting of the Executive Council.

In the afternoon His Excellency received Mr Lee Chew, Spokesman, and Mr Warren Keading, Advisor, Nan Hai Pu Tuo Temple of Australia.

In the evening at the Adelaide Town Hall, His Excellency and Mrs Le attended a performance by the Australian String Quartet.

On Monday morning members from the Port Adelaide Enfield Council, English as a Second Language Group toured Government House.

In the afternoon students from the Power Community Limited Secondary Schools program toured Government House.

On Sunday afternoon at the Woodville Town Hall, the Governor, accompanied by Mrs Le, addressed the gathering at the celebration of India’s 71st Independence Day, organised by the Indian Australian Association of South Australia.

During the afternoon, the grounds of Government House were open to view a selection of artwork on display as part of the SALA Festival.

On Saturday afternoon at the State Library of South Australia, His Excellency the Governor, accompanied by Mrs Le, addressed the guests at the 60th anniversary celebration of the Clan MacLeod Society of Australia (South Australia).

In the evening at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre, the Governor, accompanied by Mrs Le, addressed the guests at the Cystic Fibrosis South Australia 2017 Donlan Lawyers 65 Roses Ball.

On Friday morning at the South Australian Museum, His Excellency the Governor, who is Chief Ambassador, addressed the guests at the Governor’s Aboriginal Employment Industry Cluster Forum.

Later at Government House, the Governor received Mr Brendan Berne, Australian Ambassador-Designate to France and Mr Dave Gordge, Director SA, Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.

In the afternoon the Governor and Mrs Le hosted a luncheon for His Excellency Mr Andres Unga, Ambassador of Estonia to Australia.  Other guests included Mrs Jaanika Unga; Mr Jaak Oks, Honorary Consul of Estonia in South Australia; Dr Richard Semenov, President, The Adelaide Estonian Society; and Mr Martin Hoile, Member of the Baltic Council of South Australia.

In the evening at the Adelaide Convention Centre, the Governor presented awards at the Master Builders Association of South Australia 2017 Building Excellence Awards dinner.

On Thursday morning at Government House, His Excellency the Governor received The Honourable Jack Snelling MP.

Later the Governor, who is patron of the South Australian Ice Sports Federation, and Mrs Le hosted a reception for participants of the Ice Factor Program.

In the evening at the Kerry Packer Civic Gallery, the Governor, who is patron-in-chief of The Bob Hawke Prime Ministerial Centre of the University of South Australia, officially launched the Fly Away exhibition.

On Wednesday morning at Walford Anglican School for Girls, Hyde Park, His Excellency the Governor delivered the keynote address at the annual Anglican Schools Student Leadership Day.

In the afternoon at Government House, the Governor received Mr Siping Cai, Consul-General of the People’s Republic of China; Ms Mian Meng, Consul of the People’s Republic of China; and Ms Chen Xin, Vice Consul of the People’s Republic of China.

The Governor has appointed Lieutenant Governor, Professor Brenda Wilson, to be Governor’s Deputy from 6:30 am until 7:00 pm on Tuesday 8th August 2017.

On Tuesday morning in the APY Lands, His Excellency the Governor attended the State Funeral for the late Mr Yami Lester OAM.

In the morning at Government House, Her Excellency Professor Brenda Wilson, as Governor’s Deputy, presided over a meeting of the Executive Council.

Later, Mrs Le hosted a morning tea for Australian Red Cross Blood Service (Adelaide Branch) donors, followed by a tour of the House.

On Monday morning at Government House, His Excellency the Governor and Mrs Le hosted a morning tea to celebrate the 100th Birthday of Mr Bill Corey OAM.

In the afternoon at Marion, the Governor addressed the guests at the Probus Club of Marion luncheon.

On Sunday morning at St Francis Xavier Cathedral, His Excellency the Governor attended the Commissioning Mass for Ms Cathy Beaton, State President, The St Vincent de Paul Society (SA).

In the afternoon at the Adelaide Oval, the Governor, who is patron of the South Australian National Football League, and Mrs Le, attended the Chairman’s Match Day Function, followed by watching the Port Adelaide v Adelaide football game.

On Friday afternoon at Government House, His Excellency the Governor and Mrs Le hosted a luncheon for Her Excellency Mrs Erica Schouten, Ambassador of The Kingdom of the Netherlands to Australia.  Other guests included Mr Willem Ouwens, Honorary Consul, The Kingdom of the Netherlands in South Australia and Mr Frank Weits, President, Australian Netherlands Chamber of Commerce SA.

In the evening at The Royal Adelaide Golf Club, the Governor, who is patron, attended the Members' Club Dinner.

On Thursday morning at Government House, His Excellency the Governor received Mr Rob DiMonte, Chair and Mr David Pearson, Executive Director, Don Dunstan Foundation.

In the afternoon the Governor received Mr Peter Louca, Executive Director, Arts SA and Mr Nick Mitzevich, Director, Art Gallery of South Australia, and afterwards hosted them for luncheon.

Later the Governor received Dr Sam Wells, Chair, Rhodes Scholarship Selection Committee for South Australia and Professor John Williams, Co-State Secretary, Rhodes Scholarships in Australia.

In the evening at the Adelaide Oval, the Governor presented awards at the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Awards for the Central Region.

On Wednesday morning at Government House, His Excellency the Governor presided over a meeting of the Executive Council.

In the evening in Adelaide, the Governor accompanied by Mrs Le, as patrons of COTA SA, addressed the guests and officially opened the SALA exhibition 'SNAPSHOT - Modern Ageing'.

Afterwards at the Adelaide Oval, the Governor presented awards at the Trainee & Apprentice Placement Service Apprentice Awards of Excellence and Graduation Ceremony.

On Tuesday morning at Government House, His Excellency the Governor presided over a meeting of the Executive Council.

Later the Governor received Mr Wayne Chao, President, and Mr Patrick Ho, Past President, Hong Kong Australia Business Association – South Australia, and afterwards, together with Mrs Le, hosted them for luncheon.

In the afternoon Mrs Le, who is patron, hosted an afternoon tea followed by a tour of Government House for Australian Red Cross – South Australia Division staff and volunteers.

On Monday afternoon at Government House, His Excellency the Governor and Mrs Le hosted a luncheon for His Excellency Mr Kwok Fook Seng, High Commissioner of Singapore.  Other guests included Mrs Pearl Kwok; Mr Benedict Tan, First Secretary, High Commission of Singapore; Mr Michael Abbott AO, Chairman, Adelaide Festival Centre Trust; and Dr Ernie Goh, President, Australia Singapore Business Council (SA).

On Saturday evening at the Dunstan Playhouse, His Excellency the Governor and Mrs Le attended the Kalalaya - School of Indian Performing Arts performance of 'Amazing India 2017'.

Afterwards at the Hilton Adelaide, the Governor, who is patron of the Malaysia Club of South Australia, and accompanied by Mrs Le, addressed the guests at the Rasa Sayang Cultural Night.

On Friday morning at the Crowne Plaza Adelaide, Her Excellency Professor Brenda Wilson, as Governor’s Deputy, delivered the opening address at the annual conference of the Australasian College of Health Service Management, of which she is patron.

Afterwards at Government House, Her Excellency Professor Brenda Wilson, as Governor’s Deputy, received Associate Professor Zoe Jordan, Executive Director, The Joanna Briggs Institute, Faculty of Health & Medical Sciences, University of Adelaide.

In consequence of a period of leave, His Excellency the Governor appointed Lieutenant Governor, Professor Brenda Wilson, to be Governor’s Deputy from midnight Friday 21st July until 4:00pm Tuesday 25th July 2017, and from midnight Tuesday 25th July until midnight Friday 28th July 2017.

On Tuesday morning at Government House, Her Excellency Professor Brenda Wilson, as Governor’s Deputy, presided over a meeting of the Executive Council.

In the evening His Excellency the Governor and Mrs Le hosted a reception for the presentation of the 2017 South Australian Young Tall Poppy Science Awards.

Afterwards at the Adelaide Festival Centre, the Governor, as patron of the OzAsia Festival, accompanied by Mrs Le, addressed the guests at the 2017 OzAsia Festival launch.

The Governor has appointed Lieutenant Governor, Professor Brenda Wilson, to be Governor’s Deputy from midnight Friday 21st July 2017 until 4:00pm Tuesday 25th July 2017.

On Monday morning South Australian Museum volunteers toured Government House.

On Friday evening at the Adelaide Festival Theatre, His Excellency the Governor and Mrs Le attended a performance of the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra’s A Night in Vienna.

The Governor has appointed Lieutenant Governor, Professor Brenda Wilson, to be Governor’s Deputy from midnight Friday 21st July 2017 until 4:00pm Tuesday 25th July 2017.

On Thursday morning at Government House, His Excellency the Governor and Mrs Le hosted a morning tea for the Fight Cancer Foundation’s Back on Track Education Program with the participation members of the Liverpool and Manchester United Masters teams.

Afterwards in Norwood, the Governor attended a luncheon hosted by the Greek Orthodox Community and Parish of the Prophet Elias, Norwood and Eastern Suburbs, for the Feast Day of the Prophet Elias.

On Wednesday morning at Government House, His Excellency the Governor received Mr Andrew Daniels, Chairman, Mr Andrew Thomas, President, and Mr David Boggan, General Manager, The Adelaide Club, and afterwards, together with Mrs Le, hosted them for luncheon.

On Tuesday morning at Government House, His Excellency the Governor presided over a meeting of the Executive Council.

Later Mrs Le, who is patron, hosted a morning tea for committee members of the Orchid Club of South Australia.

In the afternoon the Governor, who is patron, received Mr Eric Lai, President and Mr George Chin, Past President, Chinatown Adelaide of South Australia, and afterwards, together with Mrs Le, hosted them for luncheon.
