On Thursday morning at Government House His Excellency the Governor presided over a meeting of the Executive Council.

Later the Governor received Mr Brenton Kruse.

In the afternoon the Governor and Mrs Scarce received Mr Brad and Mrs Jo Flaherty; Flight Lieutenant Lauren Flaherty, and Captain Tristan Johnson.

In the evening, as guests of Southern Cross Care (SA & NT), the Governor, accompanied by Mrs Scarce, addressed the guests at a reception in the grounds of Government House to celebrate the Southern Cross Care Community Foundation.

In the morning students from Redeemer Lutheran School, Nuriootpa toured Government House.

On Wednesday morning at Government House His Excellency the Governor received the Speaker of the House of Assembly.

Later the Governor and Mrs Scarce, as guests of the Department for Communities and Social Inclusion, toured the facilities at the new Adelaide Youth Training Centre at Cavan.

In the afternoon the Governor, as patron of the Country Carnival Cricket Association, met the players at the match between Mundulla and Weetulta at Walkerville Oval.

In the evening at Government House the Governor and Mrs Scarce hosted a reception to thank those who volunteered as Open Day House guides in 2012.

Later the Governor, as patron of the Helpmann Academy, and Mrs Scarce attended a preview of the Academy's Graduation Exhibition at Torrens Parade Ground.

Afterwards the Governor, accompanied by Mrs Scarce, addressed the guests at The Civil Contractors Federation Hall of Fame awards presentation ceremony at Thebarton.

On Tuesday morning in the grounds of Government House, His Excellency the Governor, accompanied by Mrs Scarce, addressed the guests and presented awards at the 2013 Merit Ceremony hosted by the SACE Board of South Australia.

In the evening Mrs Scarce, as patron of The Palliative Care Council of South Australia, addressed the guests at the 'Letting Go' Forum at the Royal Coach Inn, Kent Town.

On Monday morning community volunteers toured Government House.

In the afternoon at Government House His Excellency the Governor and Mrs Scarce, who is patron of Ronald McDonald House Adelaide, hosted a reception to thank participants of the SA Ride for Sick Kids.

On Saturday afternoon the Governor and Mrs Scarce attended a luncheon hosted by Dr David Game AO at Royston Park.

In the evening at Ayers House, the Governor, as Patron-in-Chief, and Mrs Scarce attended a dinner in celebration of six decades of the National Trust of South Australia and the launch of their Patron Program.

On Friday afternoon at Government House His Excellency the Governor and Mrs Scarce hosted a luncheon for His Excellency Mr Enrique Viguera, Ambassador of Spain and Mrs Marta Altolaguirre. Other guests included Mr Simon Hatcher, Managing Director of Acciona Agua; Mr Terry Kallis, Managing Director of Petratherm Limited; Mr Manuel Ortigosa, Managing Director of Global Intertrade Pty Ltd, and Mr Francisco Barón, Director of Navantia Australia.

In the evening the Governor, as patron of the Operation Flinders Foundation, and Mrs Scarce hosted a reception to thank volunteers and supporters of Operation Flinders.

Later the Governor and Mrs Scarce attended the John Schumann concert at the Adelaide Festival Centre.

On Thursday morning His Excellency the Governor and Mrs Scarce, as guests of The SA Parliamentary Christian Fellowship, attended the Ecumenical Service to mark the beginning of the 2013 Parliamentary year at The Church of St Patrick.

Afterwards at Government House the Governor presided over a meeting of the Executive Council.

Later, as guests of the Centennial Park Cemetery Authority, the Governor, accompanied by Mrs Scarce, officially opened the new Operations Complex at Centennial Park, Pasadena.

In the afternoon at Urrbrae House, Netherby, the Governor, as patron of the Adelaide Benevolent and Strangers' Friend Society, accompanied by Mrs Scarce, launched the book "The History of the Adelaide Benevolent and Strangers' Friend Society Incorporated - 1849-2012".

In the evening the Governor and Mrs Scarce, as guests of the Art Gallery of South Australia, attended the official opening of the ‘Turner from the Tate: the making of a master' exhibition, followed by the sponsor dinner.

On Wednesday morning at Government House His Excellency the Governor, as patron, received Dr P Schulz, Chair of the Defence Reserves Support Council - South Australia.

Afterwards the Governor received Dr A Glover AO, Senior Development Specialist & Research Fellow of Coffey International Ltd.

In the afternoon the Governor, as patron of The Duke of Edinburgh's Award in Australia, South Australian Division, received Ms J Potter, Chair, and Ms J Kennedy from the Office for Youth.

Later the Governor received Ms M Champion de Crespigny, Director of Youth Opportunities.

In the evening the Governor received Mr R Ferrari OAM, Chief Executive Officer of Bellinger Instruments Pty Ltd.

Afterwards the Governor and Mrs Scarce hosted a dinner for the ‘Governor's 10' team who, along with the Governor, participated in last month's 2013 Santos Tour Down Under Bupa Challenge Tour, in support of Cancer Council SA. On Tuesday morning His Excellency the Governor met with Mr Archie Bethel CBE, Divisional Chief Executive of Marine & Technology Division, Babcock International Group PLC, and Mr Craig Lockhart, Chief Executive Officer and Rear Admiral Bob Love CB OBE, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Babcock Pty Ltd.

In the afternoon at Government House the Governor and Mrs Scarce received members of the House of Assembly for the presentation of the new Speaker of the House of Assembly.

Later at the University of Adelaide, the Governor attended Creating Productive and Healthy Organisations: A presentation and panel event, hosted by the Institute of Public Administration South Australia Division.

In the evening at Government House the Governor, as patron, and Mrs Scarce hosted a reception for the presentation of awards recognising the contribution of volunteers of the Royal South Australian Yacht Squadron.

Later the Governor and Mrs Scarce, as guests of the Australian Chamber Orchestra, attended the performance of Tognetti's Mozart at the Adelaide Town Hall.

On Monday evening His Excellency the Governor and Mrs Scarce hosted a dinner at Government House in appreciation of those who facilitated the Vice-Regal visit to the APY Lands. Guests from the Division of Aboriginal Affairs and Reconciliation, Department of the Premier and Cabinet included Ms Leanne Liddle, Manager of the APY/West Coast and Mr Daniel Forgie; Mr Mark Jackman, Government Business Manager of the Amata Community; Mr Craig Macauley, Manager of Remote Service Delivery and Mrs Beth Macauley; Mr Bob Smith, APY Lands Service Coordinator and Mrs Leanne Smith, together with Ms Rosemary Lester, Interpreter, and Ms Zania Liddle.

On Sunday afternoon His Excellency the Governor and Mrs Scarce attended a luncheon hosted by The Most Reverend Bishop David McCall and Mrs Marion McCall OAM.

On Saturday morning at the Stamford Grand Hotel, His Excellency the Governor, as patron of Flinders Centre for Innovation in Cancer and accompanied by Mrs Scarce, officially opened the 2013 Flinders Centre for Innovation in Cancer Survivorship Conference.

In the evening at the National Wine Centre of Australia, the Governor and Mrs Scarce attended the 25th Anniversary dinner of Headquarters 9th Brigade, Australian Army.

 

On Friday morning His Excellency the Governor met with Mr Andrew Fletcher, Chief Executive, Defence SA.

In the evening the Governor and Mrs Scarce, as guests of Scouts Australia - South Australian Branch, attended the basketball game between the Adelaide 36ers and Wollongong Hawks at the Adelaide Arena, Findon.

In the afternoon the Governor received Ms Pamela Rajkowski, Author of ‘Beltana: A History of Beltana Town and the Pastoral Northern Flinders Ranges'.

On Tuesday morning at Government House His Excellency the Governor, as patron, received Associate Professor Susan Neuhaus CSC, Chair and Ms Jan Chorley, Chief Executive Officer of The Repat Foundation.

Later the Governor and Mrs Scarce received Ms Jan Wallent, Vice-President of the Australian Families of the Military Research Foundation Limited.

In the afternoon the Governor received Mr Barry Windle, Chair and Mrs Chris Steele Scott OAM, Marketing Manager of the Adelaide Hills International Sculpture Symposium.

On Sunday afternoon the Governor and Mrs Scarce, as guests of Events South Australia, viewed the final Stage of the 2013 Santos Tour Down Under from King William Road, Adelaide.

On Saturday morning His Excellency the Governor and Mrs Scarce attended the Australia Day Citizenship Ceremony at the Walkerville Memorial Garden, as guests of Her Worship the Mayor of The Corporation of the Town of Walkerville, Ms Heather Wright.

Afterwards the Governor, as patron of the Order of Australia Association - South Australian Branch, accompanied by Mrs Scarce, addressed the guests at the Australia Day Multi Faith celebration "Australians Together - Giving and Forgiving" at Elder Hall.

In the evening the Governor, as patron-in-chief of the Australia Day Council of South Australia, accompanied by Mrs Scarce, viewed the 2013 "Australia Day in the City" Parade from King William Road, Adelaide.

Later the Governor and Mrs Scarce, as guests of Events South Australia, attended the 2013 Santos Tour Down Under Legends' Night Dinner at the Adelaide Convention Centre.

On Friday His Excellency the Governor led the ‘Governor's 10' team in the 2013 Santos Tour Down Under Bupa Challenge Tour, in support of Cancer Council SA.

In the afternoon at Government House His Excellency the Governor received Mr Hieu Van Le AO, Lieutenant Governor of South Australia.

In the evening in the grounds of Government House, the Governor, as patron-in-chief of the Australia Day Council of South Australia, accompanied by Mrs Scarce, addressed the guests and presented awards at a ceremony for the 2013 South Australian Citizenship of the Year Awards.

On Thursday morning at Government House His Excellency the Governor received Mr Andrew Fletcher, Chief Executive of Defence SA.

In the afternoon at Stirling Oval the Governor and Mrs Scarce, as guests of His Worship the Mayor of Adelaide Hills Council, Mr B Spragg, attended the Santos Tour Down Stage 3 Finish, where the Governor presented a trophy to the stage winner.

On Tuesday afternoon at the Adelaide Festival Centre, His Excellency the Governor and Mrs Scarce attended a reception for the Annual Conference of the Supreme and Federal Court Judges of Australia and New Zealand hosted by the Supreme Court of South Australia.

In the evening at the Adelaide Town Hall, the Governor and Mrs Scarce attended a Lord Mayoral reception for the 2013 Santos Tour Down Under.

On Monday morning at Government House, His Excellency the Governor received The Honourable Jay Weatherill MP, Premier of South Australia, accepted Ministerial resignations, presided over an Executive Council meeting and officiated at a swearing-in of Ministers.

On Sunday afternoon His Excellency the Governor and Mrs Scarce, as guests of Events South Australia, viewed the 2013 Santos Tour Down Under People's Choice Classic at Rymill Park.
