On Monday afternoon His Excellency Mr Hieu Van Le AO, as Governor's Deputy, presided over a meeting of the Executive Council. At this meeting, the Governor's Deputy issued a writ for an election of six Senators for the State to be held on the 7th September 2013.

His Excellency the Governor has appointed the Lieutenant Governor, Mr Hieu Van Le AO, as Governor's Deputy from 6:00 am on Thursday 1st August 2013 until 11:30 am on Monday 19th August 2013 during his absence on leave.

In the afternoon at the Hilton Adelaide, His Excellency the Governor and Mrs Scarce attended the Advertiser and Sunday Mail Foundation luncheon celebrating George Gross and Harry Watt's 40 years of fashion.

On Tuesday morning at Panacea Restaurant, His Excellency the Governor addressed the gathering at the Law Society of South Australia's Premium Breakfast.

Afterwards at Government House, the Governor received Mr Michael Luchich, State Director - South Australia, Telstra Corporation Limited.

In the afternoon at Government House, the Governor received Mr David Travers, Chief Executive, UCL Australia.

Later at Government House, the Governor received Mr Michael Thomas, National Director and Chair of the State Executive, Toc H South Australia.

In the evening at Government House, the Governor and Mrs Scarce hosted a reception for the presentation of the 2013 South Australian Tall Poppy Awards.

On Monday evening at Government House, His Excellency the Governor and Mrs Scarce hosted a reception for the History Council of South Australia for the presentation of the inaugural South Australian Historian of the Year awards.

On Sunday at AAMI Stadium, West Lakes, His Excellency the Governor and Mrs Scarce attended the pre-match function hosted by Power Community for Legacy Ladies. As guests of the Port Adelaide Football Club, the Governor and Mrs Scarce then watched the match between Port Adelaide and Brisbane.

On Friday morning His Excellency the Governor met with Mr Andrew Fletcher, Chief Executive of Defence SA, to discuss the South Australian defence industry.

In the afternoon at Hawthorn, the Governor, as patron of Meals on Wheels (SA), addressed the gathering and presented awards to volunteers at the 50th Birthday celebration of Mitcham Meals on Wheels.

Also in the afternoon, Mrs Scarce, as a guest of Voice Interests and Education of Women, addressed the guests at the 2013 VIEW Club Gala Luncheon at the Royal Adelaide Golf Club.

On Thursday morning at Government House, His Excellency the Governor presided over a meeting of the Executive Council.

Afterwards the Governor and Mrs Scarce hosted a morning tea for volunteers of Alzheimer's Australia SA.

In the afternoon in Adelaide, the Governor attended a boardroom lunch with Mr David Thodey, Chief Executive Officer of the Telstra Corporation Limited.

Later at Adelaide Oval, the Governor, as patron of the South Australian National Football League, attended a briefing on the Adelaide Oval redevelopment followed by a tour.

In the evening the Governor and Mrs Scarce, as guests of Ernst & Young, attended the 2013 Central Region Entrepreneur of the Year awards ceremony at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre.

On Wednesday morning the Governor delivered the opening address at the 25th National Conference of Occupational Therapy Australia at the Adelaide Convention Centre.

In the afternoon at Government House, the Governor was joined for lunch by Mr Kevin Osborn, Deputy Chairman of the South Australian Economic Development Board.

In the evening at the Auge Ristorante, Adelaide, the Governor and Mrs Scarce attended a dinner hosted by Professor Michael Worton, Vice-Provost of Academic & International at the University College London.

On Tuesday afternoon at Government House, His Excellency the Governor received Mr Hieu Van Le AO, Lieutenant Governor of South Australia.

In the evening the Governor, as patron of the Service to Youth Council, accompanied by Mrs Scarce, officially opened the new Council's premises in Adelaide.

His Excellency the Governor wrote a letter on behalf of all South Australians to Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge with congratulations on the birth of their son.

On Monday evening at Government House, His Excellency the Governor, as patron, and Mrs Scarce hosted a reception to thank volunteers of Muscular Dystrophy South Australia.

On Sunday morning at St Francis Xavier Cathedral, the Governor and Mrs Scarce, as guests of The St Vincent de Paul Society, attended the Commissioning Mass of Brian Spencer, State President.

In the afternoon at Kensington Park, the Governor and Mrs Scarce attended an afternoon tea hosted by Air Commodore Noel Derwort, Senior Defence Force Representative - South Australia, and Ms Pauline Koitka.

On Saturday at The Royal Adelaide Golf Club, His Excellency the Governor, as patron, participated in the annual Ackland Horman Trophy followed by a presentation lunch.

In the morning Mrs Scarce, as patron of The Naval Association of Australia - South Australian Section - WRANS Sub Section, attended a meeting at Torrens Parade Ground.

In the evening at the Naval, Military & Air Force Club, the Governor, as patron of the Royal United Services Institute of South Australia, and Mrs Scarce attended the annual Dining-in Night.

On Friday morning His Excellency the Governor met with Mr Andrew Fletcher, Chief Executive of Defence SA, to discuss the South Australian defence industry.

Afterwards at the Adelaide Convention Centre, the Governor, as patron of Bedford, accompanied by Mrs Scarce, presented awards at the Graduation Ceremony for students who have participated in the Bedford 'Abilities for All' program.

In the evening at The Royal Adelaide Golf Club, the Governor, as patron, attended the Members' Club Dinner.

On Thursday morning at Government House, His Excellency the Governor presided over a meeting of the Executive Council.

Afterwards the Governor chaired the Carnegie Mellon University Australia Joint Advisory Board meeting in the Torrens Building.

On Sunday morning at the SA Maritime Museum, Port Adelaide, the Governor and Mrs Scarce, as guests of The French-Australian Chamber of Commerce & Industry (SA Chapter), attended a celebration of Bastille Day.

In the afternoon at St Michael's Lutheran Church, Hahndorf, the Governor and Mrs Scarce attended the installation of Pastor John Henderson as Bishop of the Lutheran Church of Australia.

On Saturday morning at AAMI Stadium, West Lakes, His Excellency the Governor and Mrs Scarce, as guests of the Port Adelaide Football Club, watched the match between Port Adelaide and Hawthorn.

In the evening the Governor and Mrs Scarce attended a dinner hosted by Mr David and Mrs Kathie Simmons.

On Friday afternoon at Government House, His Excellency the Governor received Mr Mike Terlet, Chairman, and Mr John Shepherd, Executive Director of the Operation Flinders Foundation.

Afterwards the Governor and Mrs Scarce hosted a ceremony to present a Meritorious Unit Citation to Number 92 Wing of the Royal Australian Air Force.

In the afternoon at the Tandanya National Aboriginal Cultural Institute, the Governor presented awards at the 2013 Gladys Elphick Awards Ceremony.

In the evening at the Adelaide Festival Centre, His Excellency the Governor and Mrs Scarce attended a performance of ‘Swan Lake'.

In the afternoon at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre, the Governor, as patron of the South Australian Rugby Union, addressed the guests at the Kilikanoon SA Rugby Lions Tour Luncheon.

In the evening at Government House, the Governor and Mrs Scarce hosted a reception for participants in the Endeavour Australia Cheung Kong Scholarship Program.

Later the Governor and Mrs Scarce hosted a dinner. Guests included Mr HL Kam of the Cheung Kong Infrastructure Holdings Limited and Mrs Diane Kam and Mr Rob Stobbe, Chief Executive Officer of SA Power Networks.

On Thursday morning at Government House, His Excellency the Governor presided over a meeting of the Executive Council.

Later the Governor received Mr Bill Denny, Director of the Office of the Minister for Veterans' Affairs - Veterans SA.

In the afternoon the Governor and Mrs Scarce were joined for lunch by Mr Max Hill and Ms Paula Harder.

Afterwards the Governor and Mrs Scarce, who is patron, hosted a reception for the presentation of The Queen's Award to members of The Girls' Brigade South Australia.
