On Saturday morning at Parafield Gardens, His Excellency the Governor and Mrs Scarce visited the annual fete of IBIS Care Edenfield Aged Care facility. 

In the afternoon the Governor and Mrs Scarce, as guests of Mr Hugh and Mrs Fiona MacLachlan, attended a luncheon at Jumbuck Olive Grove at Glen Devon.

On Friday morning at Kilkenny Primary School, Mrs Scarce, as patron of the Children's Week Association of South Australia, officially launched Children’s Week 2013.

Throughout the day at Government House, His Excellency the Governor convened the interview process for the selection of the 2014 Rhodes Scholar for South Australia.  The Selection Committee included Dr P Phillips, Deputy Chair, Ms S Kelly, Ms A Heyworth, Ms J McLean, Dr D Clode and Mr R Whittington QC and was attended by Professor G Hutchinson AM, General Secretary of Rhodes Scholarships in Australia, and Ms M Seppelt, Honorary Secretary of SA Rhodes Scholarship Selection Committee.

In the evening the Governor and Mrs Scarce hosted a reception for the announcement of the Rhodes Scholar for 2014.

Later at the National Wine Centre of Australia, the Governor and Mrs Scarce, as guests of the University of Adelaide’s Peter Couche Foundation, attended the annual Wine Dinner Supporting Stroke Research.

On Thursday morning at Government House, His Excellency the Governor presided over a meeting of the Executive Council.

Afterwards the Governor attended the opening of the Soldier On RSL Pilot Re-Integration Centre at North Adelaide.

Later at Government House the Governor and Mrs Scarce hosted a morning tea and tour of the House for Arkaroola Science with Practice Field Trip students from Urrbrae Agricultural High School.

In the evening the Governor hosted a dinner for the South Australian Rhodes Scholarship Selection Committee members and short-listed candidates.

Professor Graham Hutchinson AM, General Secretary for Rhodes Scholarships in Australia, arrived to stay at Government House.

On Wednesday morning His Excellency the Governor took part in the be active Corporate Cup Challenge.

Later at Government House, the Governor met with Mr John Schumann to discuss veterans’ health.

In the afternoon at North Adelaide, Mrs Scarce attended the Life Care Leaders’ Lunch.

In the evening at Government House, the Governor and Mrs Scarce hosted a reception for the biennial reunion of the Royal Australian Navy Clearance Divers Association.

Afterwards at Kensington Park, the Governor, as a guest of Food South Australia, attended the 2013 SA Food Industry Awards Finalists announcement.

Also in the evening, Mrs Scarce, as an Honorary Member of the Zonta Club of Adelaide Flinders, attended the International Night Dinner in Adelaide.

On Tuesday morning at Government House, His Excellency the Governor received Mr Robert Whitington QC, Member of the Rhodes Scholarship Selection Committee for SA.

Afterwards in the KPMG Board Room, Adelaide, the Governor, as patron of Sport SA, attended the 2013 KPMG SA Sport Hall of Fame Announcement.

In the afternoon at Government House, the Governor, as Deputy Prior, received Mr Andrew McLachlan CSC, Chairman of St John Ambulance Australia SA.

Also in the afternoon, Mrs Scarce, as president of the Australian Red Cross – SA Division, addressed the gathering at the State Conference at the State Library.

In the evening at Elizabeth, the Governor, accompanied by Mrs Scarce, addressed the guests prior to the commencement of the Adelaide Film Festival world premiere screening of Jack Buckskin.

Afterwards at the Adelaide Convention Centre, the Governor, as a guest of the Submarine Institute of Australia, addressed the gathering at the 2013 Technology Conference Dinner.

On Monday afternoon at Government House, His Excellency the Governor received His Excellency
Mr Paul Madden, British High Commissioner; Commander Alan Williams RAN, Commanding Officer of  Navy Headquarters SA; Mr Gareth Hoar, British Consul-General, and Commander Angas Essenhigh RN, Commanding Officer of HMS Daring.

In the evening the Governor and Mrs Scarce, who is patron of The Palliative Care Council of South Australia, hosted a reception for the 2013 Palliative Care Awards.

Later at the National Wine Centre of Australia, the Governor and Mrs Scarce, as guests of Jewish Community Services, attended a celebration of the life of Mrs Regina Zielinski.

In the morning community volunteers toured Government House.

On Sunday morning at Keswick Barracks, as guests of the 3rd Battalion, Royal Australian Regiment, the Governor, accompanied by Mrs Scarce, addressed the gathering and placed a wreath at a memorial service for the First Tour Vietnam 1967-68 Reunion in Adelaide.

In the afternoon at the Palace Cinemas, Mrs Scarce officially launched the Adelaide Film Festival premiere of Muriel Matters!

On Saturday afternoon at Kensington, Mrs Scarce, as patron-in-chief, attended the luncheon in celebration of over 110 years of National Council of Women of South Australia's work within the South Australian Community.

Later at the Playford Civic Centre, His Excellency the Governor, accompanied by Mrs Scarce, addressed the gathering at the African Women's Federation Cultural Festival.

In the evening at the Hilton Adelaide, the Governor and Mrs Scarce attended the South Australia Police Legacy Ball.

On Friday morning His Excellency the Governor, as patron of the South Australian Sports Federation, attended the Adelaide Shores/Sport SA Partners and Members breakfast and Sport SA Award Finalist announcement at Lockleys Bowling Club.

In the afternoon the Governor, as a guest of Business SA, attended the 2013 Export Awards luncheon at the National Wine Centre of Australia.

In the evening at Government House, the Governor and Mrs Scarce hosted a reception to officially open the 2013 Adelaide Fashion Festival.

On Thursday morning at Government House, His Excellency the Governor presided over a meeting of the Executive Council.

Afterwards the Governor, as patron, received Brigadier T Hanna AM, State President, and Mrs S Jackman, Chief Executive Officer of The Returned and Services League of Australia (SA Branch).

In the afternoon the Governor hosted a luncheon.  Guests included Mr D Crowley, President of Raytheon Integrated Defence Systems; Mr M Ward, Managing Director of Raytheon Australia Pty Ltd; Mr R Equid, Chief Executive Officer of the Air Warfare Destroyer Alliance, and Mr A Fletcher, Chief Executive of Defence SA.

In the evening the Governor and Mrs Scarce hosted a reception for the opening of the Adelaide Film Festival, and afterwards attended the opening night gala with the Australia premiere screening of 'Tracks' at the Adelaide Festival Theatre.

On Wednesday morning His Excellency the Governor joined fellow members of the “Governor’s 10” for a training ride in preparation for the Santos Tour Down Under Bupa Community Challenge Tour.

Later at Government House, the Governor received Mr David Sefton, Artistic Director of Adelaide Festival.

In the afternoon the Governor, as patron, received Mr Keith Bleechmore, President and Commodore Bob Willis RANR, past President of the Legacy Club of Adelaide.

In the evening the Governor hosted a dinner for Dr HC Atzpodien, Chairman of the Supervisory Board, ThyssenKrupp Marine Systems GmbH.  Other guests included The Honourable Jack Snelling MP, Minister for Defence Industries; Mr M Hamilton-Smith MP, Shadow Minister for Economic and Regional Development; Mr J Johansson, Chairman of ThyssenKrupp Marine Systems AB; Mr J Duncan, Director of ThyssenKrupp Marine Systems Australia, and Mr A Fletcher, Chief Executive of Defence SA.

On Tuesday morning at Government House, His Excellency the Governor received Mr Tom Young, Honorary Consul of the Republic of Mauritius.

Later the Governor received Sir Eric Neal AC CVO, patron of The Queen Elizabeth Diamond Jubilee Trust Australia.

In the afternoon the Governor hosted an afternoon tea for members of the “Governor’s 10” who will be participating in the Santos Tour Down Under Bupa Community Challenge Tour.

On Sunday afternoon the Governor, as patron of the South Australian National Football League, and Mrs Scarce attended the SANFL Grand Final Luncheon and Match at AAMI Stadium, West Lakes.

On Saturday morning, as guests of The Coorong District Council, His Excellency the Governor addressed the gathering and unveiled a plaque, and Mrs Scarce presented awards to school students at the Tailem Bend Railway Station's 100th birthday celebration.

On Friday morning His Excellency the Governor met with Mr Andrew Fletcher, Chief Executive of Defence SA, to discuss the South Australian defence industry.

In the afternoon the Governor and Mrs Scarce, as guests of His Honour Chief Judge Geoffrey Muecke, attended a luncheon with the judges of the District Court at the Sir Samuel Way Building, Adelaide.

Later at Government House the Governor and Mrs Scarce hosted a reception for local and international delegates attending the University of Adelaide’s Transformative Leadership Program.

In the evening, as guests of Netball Australia, the Governor, accompanied by Mrs Scarce, tossed the coin for the 2013 International Netball Test Match between Australia and New Zealand at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre.

On Thursday morning at Government House, His Excellency the Governor presided over a meeting of the Executive Council.

In the afternoon the Governor hosted a luncheon for members of the Governor's Leadership Program, with Dr Jana Matthews, Managing Director of Innovyz START, as principal guest. Other guests included Ms Michelle Holland, Ms Jo-Ann Spry, Ms Connie Kalinski and Ms Jane Russo.

On Wednesday morning His Excellency the Governor took part in the be active Corporate Cup Challenge.

Afterwards at Government House His Excellency the Governor received the Honourable M Wright MP, Deputy Speaker of the House of Assembly.

In the afternoon, the Governor received Ms C Witham, Australian Electoral Officer of South Australia and Mr P Hawes, Electoral Commission of South Australia, for the return of the writ for the recent election of six Senators for South Australia.

In the afternoon at the Naval, Military & Air Force Club, the Governor, as patron, addressed the October meeting of the South Australian Defence Industry Leadership Program.

In the evening at Government House the Governor and Mrs Scarce hosted a dinner for Mr R Spencer, Chairman of the South Australian Economic Development Board, and Mrs T Spencer, and Mr R Hill-Smith, Managing Director, Yalumba, and Mrs A Hill-Smith.

On Tuesday at Government House, His Excellency the Governor hosted a meeting and luncheon to discuss the South Australian defence industry with stakeholders.

In the afternoon at Government House, the Governor received Ms Margaret Anderson, Chief Executive Officer and Mr Kym Cheek, Marketing Manager, History SA.

In the evening at Government House the Governor, as Honorary Member of the Lions Club of the City of Adelaide, and Mrs Scarce hosted a reception for the presentation of the 2013 Lions Children of Courage Awards.

On Monday evening at Government House, His Excellency the Governor, as patron of The Order of Australia Association - South Australian Branch, and Mrs Scarce hosted a reception for the presentation of the 2013 Student Citizenship Awards.

On Sunday afternoon at the National Motor Museum, the Governor, as patron of the Bay to Birdwood Run Committee, accompanied by Mrs Scarce, presented the trophy to the winner of the 2013 Concours d'Elegance.

In the evening at Ayers House, the Governor addressed the guests at the Transformative Leadership Program Welcome Dinner hosted by the University of Adelaide.

On Saturday morning His Excellency the Governor and Mrs Scarce, as guests of the Roger Rasheed Sports Foundation, attended the AFL Grand Final Breakfast at the National Wine Centre of Australia.

In the evening at the Festival Theatre, the Governor and Mrs Scarce attended the performance of Extreme Jump, as part of the OzAsia Festival.

On Friday morning His Excellency the Governor met with Mr Andrew Fletcher, Chief Executive of Defence SA, to discuss the South Australian defence industry.

Afterwards the Governor laid a wreath at the National Police Remembrance Day Memorial Service at the South Australia Police Academy, Taperoo.

Also in the morning in Adelaide, Mrs Scarce, as patron, visited the office of Travellers’ Aid Society in South Australia.

In the afternoon at the Edge Church City Campus, the Governor and Mrs Scarce, as patrons of the Childhood Cancer Association, attended the presentations for Harry's Ride for Childhood Cancer.

In the evening at Government House, the Governor and Mrs Scarce hosted a reception to thank supporters of the Louisa Da Costa Trust.

On Thursday morning at Government House, His Excellency the Governor presided over a meeting of the Executive Council.

In the afternoon the Governor, as a guest of Business SA, presented the 'Young Entrepreneur of the Decade' award at a luncheon at the InterContinental Adelaide.

Afterwards at Government House, the Governor received The Honourable Graham Ingerson.

Later the Governor received Mr Hieu Van Le AO, Lieutenant Governor of South Australia.

In the evening the Governor and Mrs Scarce, as guests of Catholic Education South Australia, attended the Catholic Schools Music Festival at the Festival Theatre.

On Wednesday morning, His Excellency the Governor departed Port Pirie for Paskeville, where he attended the official luncheon and toured the sites at the Yorke Peninsula Field Days, before returning to Adelaide in the afternoon.

On Tuesday in the Flinders Ranges, His Excellency the Governor participated in Trojan’s Trek, an initiative of The Royal Australian Regiment Association SA, before departing for Port Pirie in the afternoon.

In the morning in Adelaide, Mrs Scarce, as President of the Australian Red Cross – South Australia Division, met with staff and undertook a tour of Red Cross College.

On Monday morning His Excellency the Governor departed for Moolooloo Station in the Flinders Ranges, where he met with the Station’s owners Mr Keith and Mrs Lisa Slade before joining the participants of Trojan’s Trek, an initiative of The Royal Australian Regiment Association SA.

On Sunday evening at Elder Hall, the Governor and Mrs Scarce, as guests of Adelaide Youth Orchestras, attended the “Late Masterpieces” concert.

On Saturday evening at the Adelaide Festival Centre, His Excellency the Governor and Mrs Scarce attended the performance of Not According to Plan, as part of the OzAsia Festival.

On Friday morning His Excellency the Governor met with Mr Andrew Fletcher, Chief Executive of Defence SA, to discuss the South Australian defence industry.

In the afternoon Mrs Scarce, as patron of Girl Guides South Australia, attended the Blue and Gold Society luncheon at The Hackney Hotel.

In the evening the Governor, accompanied by Mrs Scarce, presented awards at the 2013 South Australian Engineering Excellence Awards Black Tie Ball, hosted by Engineers Australia - South Australia Division at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre.

On Thursday morning at Government House, His Excellency the Governor presided over a meeting of the Executive Council.

In the afternoon the Governor and Mrs Scarce hosted a luncheon at Government House for His Excellency Dr Helmut Böck, Ambassador of Austria and Mrs Barbara Böhm-Böck.  Other guests included Mr R Gerard AO, Honorary Consul of Austria, and Dr M Faulkner, Ms S Jackson-Wood, Ms A Gaut, Ms S Soteriou and Ms F Gill, participants in the Governor’s Leadership Foundation program.

In the evening the Governor and Mrs Scarce hosted a reception for Year 12 students representing their schools.

Afterwards the Governor and Mrs Scarce were joined for dinner by Inspector Tim Scammell and Inspector Allison Clark of the South Australia Police.
