On Friday morning at the Adelaide Town Hall, His Excellency the Governor, as a guest of the History Teachers' Association of Australia, addressed the gathering and presented awards to the 2013 South Australian State Winners of the National History Challenge.

In the afternoon at Morphettville, the Governor, as patron of Meals on Wheels (SA), accompanied by Mrs Scarce, addressed the volunteers and presented awards at the annual awardee afternoon.

Later at Government House, the Governor met with Mr Andrew Fletcher, Chief Executive of Defence SA, to discuss the South Australian defence industry.

In the evening at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre, the Governor, as patron of the South Australian Sports Federation, and Mrs Scarce attended the 2013 KPMG celebration of South Australian Sport Gala Dinner.

In the morning, students from Elizabeth East Primary School toured Government House.

On Thursday morning His Excellency the Governor, as a guest of the Cancer Council South Australia, attended the Ride for a Reason Breakfast at the Hilton Adelaide Hotel.

Afterwards at Government House, the Governor presided over a meeting of the Executive Council.

Later the Governor and Mrs Scarce hosted a reception to thank SA Ambulance Service ‘Trauma Teddy’ volunteers.

In the afternoon the Governor received Dr Sam Wells, Senior Lecturer of the University of Adelaide Business School.

On Wednesday morning His Excellency the Governor joined fellow members of the “Governor’s 10” for a training ride in preparation for the Santos Tour Down Under Bupa Community Challenge Tour, in support of the Cancer Council of South Australia.

Later at Government House, the Governor received The Honourable Michael Atkinson MP, Speaker of the House of Assembly.

Afterwards at Birdwood Primary School, the Governor addressed the guests at the school’s Save the Children Global Peace School Accreditation Ceremony.

In the afternoon at Government House, the Governor, as patron of the Operation Flinders Foundation, and Mrs Scarce hosted a luncheon.  Guests included Mr M Terlet AO, Chairman and Mr J Shepherd AM, Executive Director of the Operation Flinders Foundation; Mr N Ross, Chairman, James & Diana Ramsay Foundation; Mr S Tonkin, Chairman, Maxima; Mr J Stock OAM, Chairman, Morialta Trust; Mr M Sayer, President, The Boy’s Brigade; Mr C Taylor, President, Clubs SA, and Mr C Menzies, Superintendent, Community Affairs, BHP Billiton.

In the evening at the Naval, Military & Air Force Club, the Governor, as patron of South Australian Defence Industry Leadership Program of the Defence Teaming Centre, addressed the gathering and presented plaques and award certificates at the program’s 2013 graduation ceremony.

Afterwards at the Adelaide Town Hall, the Governor and Mrs Scarce attended the performance of Beethoven by the Australian String Quartet.

On Tuesday morning at Government House, His Excellency the Governor received Dr Warwick Raymont.

In the afternoon at St Francis Xavier Cathedral, the Governor and Mrs Scarce, as guests of the Catholic Archdiocese of Adelaide, attended the State Ecumenical Service for the people of the Philippines in response to Typhoon Haiyan.

Later at Government House, the Governor received Mr Scott Warming, Rhodes Scholar-At-Large Nominee for South Australia.

In the evening the Governor, as patron of UNESCO Clubs – Adelaide Chapter, and Mrs Scarce hosted a reception for the presentation of awards.

Afterwards at the Woodville Town Hall, the Governor, as patron of The Leaders Institute of South Australia, accompanied by Mrs Scarce, presented certificates at the Governor's Leadership Foundation Program Graduation Ceremony.

On Monday morning at Hindmarsh, the Governor, accompanied by Mrs Scarce, opened The Briars Special Early Learning Centre Augmentative and Alternative Communication and Assistive Technology Conference.

In the afternoon at Government House, the Governor received Commodore Bob Willis RANR and Ms Tatiana Anesbury, Co-Chairs, Stemfest 2014 Organising Committee.

In the evening the Governor and Mrs Scarce were joined for dinner by Mr Roger Cook AM and Mrs Sally Cook, and Mr Tony Pilkington OAM and Mrs Anne Pilkington.

On Sunday the Governor and Mrs Scarce greeted members of the public attending the Government House Open Day.

In the afternoon the Governor, as patron of Special Olympics South Australia, accompanied by Mrs Scarce, presented athletes with their uniforms at a function at the Adelaide Pavilion.

In the evening His Excellency the Governor and Mrs Scarce, as guests of the Australian School of Performing Arts, attended the Annual Concert of the Australian Girls Choir at the Adelaide Town Hall.

On Saturday afternoon under the Gawler Place canopy, His Excellency the Governor and Mrs Scarce, who is patron of Soroptimist International - Region of South Australia, visited the Rundle Mall Community Art Project stall in support of victims of Domestic Violence.

Later in Goolwa, the Governor, accompanied by Mrs Scarce, inspected the Guard at the 808 Squadron Royal Australian Navy Freedom of Entry Parade, and attended afternoon tea as guests of His Worship the Mayor of the Alexandrina Council, Mr Kym McHugh.

On Friday morning at the Bank SA Head Office in Adelaide, His Excellency the Governor, as patron of Down Syndrome South Australia, delivered the welcome speech at a round table strategy discussion.

Later at Government House, the Governor, as patron-in-chief, received Ms Elizabeth Ho OAM, Director of The Bob Hawke Prime Ministerial Centre, University of South Australia.

In the afternoon at Kooyonga Golf Club, Lockleys, the Governor, as a guest of the Australian Imperial Forces, participated in the annual AIF Golf Day and, on completion of play, addressed the gathering and presented trophies.

On Thursday morning His Excellency the Governor, as patron, and Mrs Scarce attended the Active Ageing Australia breakfast event at Plympton.

Afterwards at Government House, the Governor presided over a meeting of the Executive Council.

Later the Governor, as patron, received Mr P Edginton, Chief Executive Officer of the Service to Youth Council.

Also in the morning, Mrs Scarce, as patron, received Mr B Parker, President of the SA Women's Memorial Playing Fields Trust.

In the afternoon at Walkerville Primary School, the Governor and Mrs Scarce visited the Walkerville Miniature Christmas Pageant Presentation created by Mr Peter Golding.

Later at Government House, the Governor, as patron of The Royal Life Saving Society Australia - SA Branch, and Mrs Scarce hosted a reception for the presentation of certificates to outstanding members of the Pool Life Saving Sport Team.

Afterwards the Governor received Mr P Vafiadis, Chairman of Innovyz and Innovyz Start.

On Wednesday morning His Excellency the Governor paid a visit to The Briars Special Early Learning Centre at Felixstow.

In the afternoon at Government House, the Governor and Mrs Scarce were joined for lunch by Mr Bill Muirhead AM, Agent General for South Australia in the United Kingdom, and Mrs Jeanne Muirhead.

Later the Governor received The Honourable Michael Atkinson MP, Speaker of the House of Assembly.

In the evening the Governor, as patron, and Mrs Scarce hosted a reception to thank volunteers associated with Netball SA.

Later at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre, the Governor addressed the guests and presented awards at the Maxima 2013 Graduation and Awards ceremony.

Afterwards at Rose Park, the Governor and Mrs Scarce attended the Adelaide Appeals Committee Christmas Wreath Cocktail Party.

On Tuesday morning at the Adelaide Convention Centre, His Excellency the Governor officially opened the annual scientific meeting of the Clinical Oncological Society of Australia.

Afterwards the Governor, as patron of the Northern Advanced Manufacturing Industry Group, viewed exhibits and met with students at the Concept2Creation Expo at the Golden Grove Arts Centre.

In the afternoon at Government House, the Governor and Mrs Scarce hosted a luncheon for His Excellency Mr Maris Sangiampongsa, Ambassador of Thailand and Ms Kokan Sangiampongsa.  Other guests included Mr K Sangiampongsa; Mr K Tankanarat and Ms V Asawapoom from the Royal Thai Embassy; Ms M Giannopoulous, Honorary Consul for Thailand, and Ms G McFadyen and Mr A Nesbitt.

In the evening the Governor and Mrs Scarce hosted a reception for the University of South Australia International Alumni Presidents.

Afterwards the Governor, as Patron-in-Chief of the Australia Day Council of SA, accompanied by Mrs Scarce, addressed the gathering and presented awards to State finalists at the Australian of the Year Awards ceremony at Adelaide Oval.

On Monday morning His Excellency the Governor and Mrs Scarce placed a tribute in memory of the fallen at the Field of Remembrance on North Terrace before attending the Annual Ceremony of Remembrance at the SA National War Memorial.

In the afternoon in Tarlee, the Governor, accompanied by Mrs Scarce, addressed the gathering and placed a wreath at the World War 1 Memorial re-dedication service, before proceeding to Auburn for a tour of Grosset Wines.

In the evening at the Rising Sun Hotel, the Governor and Mrs Scarce, as guests of the Mayor of the Clare and Gilbert Valleys Council, Mr Allan Aughey, attended a dinner with Councillors and members of the Auburn community, before returning to Adelaide.

In the morning community volunteers toured Government House.

On Friday morning, His Excellency the Administrator travelled to Canberra to perform Vice-Regal engagements at Government House in Yarralumla.  In the morning, His Excellency hosted a morning tea for Legacy widows from Canberra and surrounding areas.  In the afternoon, the Administrator presided over a meeting of the Federal Executive Council, before receiving Mr Belmiro José Malate, Non-resident High Commissioner-designate for the Republic of Mozambique, and Mr Dossou Rufin Cyr Zomahoun, Non-resident Ambassador-designate for the Republic of Benin, for the presentation of Letters of Commission.  Afterwards, His Excellency returned to Adelaide.

On Friday morning at the Adelaide Convention Centre, Mrs Scarce attended the 2013 Remembrance Day Business Breakfast.

Afterwards Mrs Scarce, as patron of Ronald McDonald House Adelaide, met with riders at the conclusion of the Ride for Sick Kids.

On Thursday morning at Government House, His Excellency the Administrator received Mr Marcus Blackmore, National Vice Chairman, Defence Reserve Support Council.

Later the Administrator received Mr Creagh O’Connor, Chairman and Mr Mark Gilbert, Director, Clipper Ship ‘City of Adelaide’ Preservation Trust.

Afterwards His Excellency the Administrator and Mrs Scarce previewed the new Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander War Memorial adjacent to the Torrens Parade Ground.

In the afternoon at the Mercure Grosvenor Hotel, the Administrator delivered the opening address and presented certificates at the Aboriginal Employment Industry Cluster Achievements function.

Later at Government House, the Administrator received His Excellency Mr Kim Bonghyun, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea and Mr Han Jae-cheol, Second Secretary.

In the evening at Government House, the Administrator, as Chief Scout, and Mrs Scarce, hosted a reception to thank supporters and volunteers of Scouts Australia – South Australian Branch.

On Thursday morning at Government House, His Excellency Mr Hieu Van Le AO, as Governor’s Deputy, presided over a meeting of the Executive Council.

On Wednesday afternoon at Government House, His Excellency the Administrator and Mrs Scarce hosted a luncheon for His Excellency Mr Pasi Patokallio, Ambassador of Finland and Mrs Raija Patokallio.  Other guests included Mr C Rann, Honorary Consul of Finland, and Mr G Holman and Dr P Smith, participants in the Governor’s Leadership Foundation program.

Later the Administrator received Lieutenant Colonel G Dunlop OAM (Rtd), Project Director of The Royal Australian Regiment Association SA - Trojan's Trek.

In the evening the Administrator, as patron of the Defence Reserves Support Council, accompanied by Mrs Scarce, presented the Prince of Wales Award and State Employer Support Award at a ceremony at Adelaide Oval.

Afterwards at Kooyonga Golf Club, Lockleys, the Administrator, accompanied by Mrs Scarce, as joint patrons of The Friends of the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra, addressed the guests at a dinner to celebrate the service of Resident Conductor, Maestro Arvo Volmer.

In the afternoon students from Thebarton Senior College toured Government House.

On Tuesday morning at Government House, His Excellency the Administrator and Mrs Scarce hosted a reception to thank the donors of the Daw House Hospice Foundation.

His Excellency the Governor has been appointed as Administrator of the Government of the Commonwealth from 2:00 pm on Monday 4th November until 5:30 pm on Friday 8th November 2013. 

The Governor has appointed the Lieutenant Governor, Mr Hieu Van Le AO, to be Governor’s Deputy during this period.

On Monday afternoon at the Adelaide Town Hall, His Excellency the Administrator attended the Demo Day of the ANZ Innovyz START Winter 2013 Accelerator Program.

In the evening at Government House, the Administrator and Mrs Scarce hosted a reception for the presentation of the 2013 Personnel Employment Employer Awards.

On Friday morning at the Adelaide Convention Centre, His Excellency the Governor officially opened the Australasian Military Medicine Association and Repatriation Foundation Joint Conference Innovations from the Battlefield.

Afterwards at Government House, the Governor and Mrs Scarce hosted a reception for the presentation of national medals for the 2013 Australian Mathematics Competition.

In the afternoon at Sacred Heart College, Somerton Park, the Governor, as patron, accompanied by Mrs Scarce, addressed the guests and presented awards at the Debating SA presentation ceremony.

In the evening at the Naval, Military & Air Force Club, Adelaide, the Governor, as patron of the Legacy Club of Adelaide, and Mrs Scarce attended the Adelaide Legacy Annual Dinner.

In the afternoon students from Cowell Area School toured Government House.

On Thursday afternoon, His Excellency the Governor returned to Adelaide, concluding an overseas trade mission to the United States of America on behalf of the State.

On Thursday morning at Government House in Adelaide, His Excellency Mr Hieu Van Le AO, as Governor’s Deputy, presided over a meeting of the Executive Council.

In the afternoon at Carrick Hill, Mrs Scarce addressed the gathering at the Spring Fundraising Luncheon of The Friends of Carrick Hill.

In the afternoon at Government House, His Excellency the Governor, as patron of The Royal Over-Seas League SA, and Mrs Scarce received Major General Roddy Porter MBE, the League’s visiting Director General and Mrs Marianne Porter; The Honourable David Wotton AM, SA President, and Mr Michael Kent, SA Honorary Secretary.

Afterwards the Governor presided over a meeting of the Executive Council.

On Wednesday His Excellency the Governor travelled from Los Angeles to Australia following an overseas trade mission to the United States of America on behalf of the State.

On Wednesday evening in Adelaide, His Excellency Mr Hieu Van Le AO, as Governor’s Deputy and on behalf of His Excellency the Governor, who is patron of the Service to Youth Council, addressed the guests and presented certificates at the Training Prospects Graduation Ceremony at the City of Playford Civic Centre in Elizabeth.

On Tuesday His Excellency the Governor continued to lead an overseas trade mission to the United States of America on behalf of the State.

Following meetings throughout the day, Washington DC time, the Governor departed for Los Angeles in the afternoon, before departing for Australia in the evening.

On Tuesday afternoon at Government House in Adelaide, Mrs Scarce hosted a reception for the presentation of student awards of the Special Interest Music Centres in South Australia, of which the Governor is patron.

On Monday in Washington DC, His Excellency the Governor continued to lead an overseas trade mission to the United States of America on behalf of the State.

On Monday evening at Government House in Adelaide, Mrs Scarce hosted a reception to thank all athletes who have represented South Australia across all of the sports supported by Sasrapid, of which the Governor is patron.

On Sunday morning at the Adelaide Arena, Mrs Scarce presented the Queen’s Scout, the Baden-Powell and Adult Good Service Awards for Scouts Australia – South Australian Branch.

On Saturday afternoon the Governor’s Deputy addressed the gathering and presented awards at the 2013 St John Ambulance Australia SA Awards Day Ceremony in the grounds of Government House.

At Burnside City Uniting Church, Mrs Scarce, as patron of The Rose Society of South Australia, presented the Spring State Championship Award at the opening of the Spring Rose Show.

In the evening at the Adelaide Convention Centre, Mrs Scarce, as patron of Ronald McDonald House Adelaide, attended the Annual Charity Ball.

On Friday His Excellency the Governor continued to lead an overseas trade mission to the United States of America on behalf of the State. 

In the morning, Virginia time, the Governor met with senior representatives of L3 Communications, and afterwards met with senior representatives of BAE Systems in Arlington, VA.

In the afternoon, Washington time, the Governor attended a luncheon with senior representatives of Northrop Grumman in Washington DC, before meeting with senior representatives of Schafer Corp in Arlington, VA.

On Friday morning in the grounds of Government House, His Excellency Mr Hieu Van Le AO, as Governor’s Deputy and on behalf of His Excellency the Governor, addressed the guests at the reception hosted by Education Adelaide for AusAID Australia Awards scholarship students.

In the afternoon, the Governor’s Deputy, accompanied by Mrs Le, on behalf of the Governor, addressed international students at the Valedictory Garden Party hosted by Education Adelaide.

Also in the afternoon, Mrs Scarce, as a guest of The Mary Potter Foundation, attended the 'Life is Sweet' High Tea at Fullarton.

On Thursday His Excellency the Governor continued to lead an overseas trade mission to the United States of America on behalf of the State.

In the morning, Connecticut time, the Governor met with senior representatives of Colt Defense LLC in Hartford, before departing for Washington DC in the afternoon.

On Thursday morning at Government House in Adelaide, His Excellency Mr Hieu Van Le AO, as Governor’s Deputy, presided over a meeting of the Executive Council.

In the evening at Elizabeth, Mrs Scarce, as patron of Girl Guides South Australia, presented awards following the Carry on Guides performance Rockin’ the Ruby!

On Wednesday His Excellency the Governor continued to lead an overseas trade mission to the United States of America on behalf of the State. 

Following meetings on Wednesday morning, Washington DC time, the Governor departed Washington DC for Hartford, Connecticut. 

In the evening, Connecticut time, the Governor attended a dinner with senior representatives of Colt Defense LLC in Hartford.

On Wednesday morning at the Adelaide Convention Centre, Mrs Scarce, as patron, attended the 25th Big Birthday Breakfast of Catherine House.

In the afternoon, students from Highgate School toured Government House.

Later Mrs Scarce, as an ambassador of the Childhood Cancer Association, attended the volunteer and supporter thank you function at the Robinson Institute in Adelaide.

In the evening at the InterContinental Adelaide, Mrs Scarce attended the end of year party for the Consular Corps of South Australia.

On Tuesday His Excellency the Governor continued to lead an overseas trade mission to the United States of America on behalf of the State.

In the morning, Washington time, the Governor met with senior representatives of Boeing Integrated Defense Systems in Seattle, before departing for Washington DC in the evening.

In the morning at Government House, Mrs Scarce, as patron of the Children's Week Association of South Australia, hosted a reception for the presentation of Children's Week Awards.

In the evening Mrs Scarce hosted a musical performance and reception for supporters of the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra.

On Monday His Excellency the Governor continued to lead an overseas trade mission to the United States of America on behalf of the State.

In the morning, Californian time, the Governor met with senior representatives of General Atomics Aeronautical Systems in San Diego.  Later the Governor travelled to Seattle, where he attended a dinner with senior representatives of Boeing Integrated Defense Systems.

On Monday morning in Adelaide, His Excellency Mr Hieu Van Le AO, as Governor’s Deputy and on behalf of His Excellency the Governor, officially opened the 2013 National Conference of the Health Information Management Association of Australia.

In the afternoon the Governor’s Deputy presided over a meeting of the Executive Council.

In the evening at Government House, Mrs Scarce hosted a reception to thank volunteers and supporters of Parkinson’s South Australia, of which the Governor is patron.

On Sunday morning the Governor departed Adelaide to lead an overseas trade mission to the United States of America on behalf of the State.

The Governor has appointed the Lieutenant Governor, Mr Hieu Van Le AO, to be Governor’s Deputy from 9:00 am on Sunday 20th October 2013 until 12:30 pm on Thursday 31st October 2013.

Also in the morning Mrs Scarce, as a guest of The Royal Australian Regiment Association SA, participated in the Veterans' Support Walk along the River Torrens in support of Trojan's Trek.
