On Sunday morning His Excellency the Governor and Mrs Scarce departed Adelaide for a regional Vice-Regional visit to the APY Lands.

His Excellency the Governor has appointed the Lieutenant Governor, Mr Hieu Van Le AO, as Governor's Deputy from 09:00 am on Sunday 15th July 2012 until 3:00 pm on Friday 20th July 2012 during his regional Vice-Regal visit to the APY Lands.

On Saturday morning at AAMI Stadium, West Lakes, His Excellency the Governor and Mrs Scarce, as guests of the Port Adelaide Football Club, attended the President's Official Function ‘Before the Bounce' before watching the match between Port Adelaide and Essendon.

In the evening at the Hilton Adelaide, His Excellency the Governor and Mrs Scarce attended the farewell dinner for Commissioner Mal Hyde AO APM hosted by South Australia Police.

On Friday morning His Excellency the Governor met with Mr Andrew Fletcher, Chief Executive Officer, Defence SA.

Afterwards His Excellency the Governor, accompanied by Mrs Scarce, addressed the gathering and officially opened ‘Dutton Court', Anglicare South Australia's new and refurbished Seniors' Living Facility at Elizabeth East.

In the evening the Governor and Mrs Scarce attended the Bastille Gala dinner hosted by The French-Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry South Australia at the Intercontinental Hotel Adelaide.

On Thursday morning at Government House His Excellency the Governor presided over a meeting of the Executive Council.

In the afternoon at Government House, the Governor received Major General Michael Jeffery AC AO(Mil) CVO MC (Retd), Executive Chairman, The Queen Elizabeth Diamond Jubilee Trust Australia.

In the evening at Government House, His Excellency the Governor and Mrs Scarce hosted a dinner for the members of the Legislative Council. On Wednesday morning at Government House His Excellency the Governor received the Honourable Bob Sneath MLC, President of the Legislative Council.

Afterwards His Excellency the Governor, accompanied by Mrs Scarce who is an Honorary Member of the Lyceum Club (Adelaide), participated in the 90th Birthday Luncheon at the Clubrooms in Adelaide.

In the afternoon at Government House the Governor, as patron, and Mrs Scarce hosted a reception to thank volunteers and supporters of the Cora Barclay Centre.

In the evening His Excellency the Governor and Mrs Scarce as guests of the Windmill Performing Arts Company, attended the opening night of ‘Pinocchio' at the Dunstan Playhouse

On Tuesday morning at Government House His Excellency the Governor received Rear Admiral Rowan Moffitt RAN, Head of the Future Submarine Program, Department of Defence.

Afterwards at Government House, the Governor and Mrs Scarce hosted a Morning Tea for the outgoing Scouts South Australia Chief Commissioner Mr John Derbyshire. Guests included Mrs Sue Derbyshire, Mr Dan Ryan RFD, Chief Executive Officer, Mrs Sharon Ryan, Mr Graham Coates, President, Mrs Jill Coates and Mr Steve Hastwell.

Later at Government House His Excellency the Governor presided over a meeting of the Executive Council.

In the afternoon, His Excellency the Governor addressed the participants of the 2012 Young Men's Christian Association South Australia Youth Parliament at Rostrevor College.

In the evening, His Excellency the Governor and Mrs Scarce attended the 2012 Human Rights Oration delivered by Professor The Honourable Gareth Evans AC QC and hosted by the Don Dunstan Foundation at Elder Hall.

On Monday evening at Government House His Excellency the Governor, as patron, and Mrs Scarce hosted a reception to thank volunteers and supporters of UnitingCare Adelaide East.

In the morning community volunteers toured Government House.

On Saturday evening His Excellency the Governor and Mrs Scarce, as guests of State Opera of South Australia, attended the opening night performance of La Bohème at the Adelaide Festival Theatre.

On Friday morning His Excellency the Governor met with Mr Andrew Fletcher, Chief Executive Officer, Defence SA.

Later at Government House the Governor and Mrs Scarce received Mr Harvey Collins and Mr Don Barrett.

In the evening the Governor, as patron of the South Australian Olympic Council, and Mrs Scarce attended the Premier's Games Appeal Dinner at the Adelaide Convention Centre.

On Thursday morning at Government House His Excellency the Governor presided over a meeting of the Executive Council.

In the afternoon the Governor, as Chief Scout, and Mrs Scarce hosted a ceremony for the investiture of Mr Chris Bates, as Chief Commissioner of Scouts Australia - South Australian Branch.

In the evening the Governor and Mrs Scarce discussed ‘Books in my life' with The Friends of the State Library of South Australia at the Hetzel Theatre, State Library of South Australia.

On Wednesday afternoon His Excellency the Governor, as an honorary member of the Rotary Club of Adelaide, addressed the gathering at the luncheon meeting at the Adelaide Oval.

Mrs Scarce presented awards at the 2012 Gladys Elphick Luncheon and Awards Ceremony at the InterContinental Adelaide.

In the evening at Government House the Governor and Mrs Scarce hosted a reception to celebrate the achievements of Aboriginal South Australians on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of the term of Sir Douglas Nicholls as Australia's first Aboriginal Governor.

On Tuesday morning at Government House His Excellency the Governor received Her Excellency Mrs Salome Sijaona, High Commissioner to Australia and Ms J Maleko, Minister Counsellor, Embassy of the United Republic of Tanzania, and Mr S Msomi, Honorary Consul-General of Tanzania in Adelaide.

Afterwards the Governor and Mrs Scarce received Her Excellency Ms Quentin Bryce AC CVO, Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia.

On Sunday evening at Government House the Governor hosted a dinner for His Excellency Hernán de Solminihac, the Minister for Mining of the Republic of Chile, and his accompanying delegation, which included His Excellency Pedro Pablo Diaz Herrera, Ambassador of the Republic of Chile.  South Australian guests included the Hon Tom Koutsantonis MP, Minister for Mineral Resources and Energy; Mr M Williams MP, Shadow Minister for Mineral Resources Development; Mr T Burgess, Managing Director and CEO, OZ Minerals, and Mr G Knight, Chief Executive and Dr P Heithersay, Deputy Chief Executive, Department for Manufacturing, Innovation, Trade, Resources and Energy.

On Saturday afternoon His Excellency the Governor and Mrs Scarce, as guests of the Chairman of the Adelaide Football Club, attended the pre-match function and football game Adelaide v Richmond at AAMI Stadium.

In the evening at Bonython Hall, the Governor and Mrs Scarce attended the Farewell Dinner for Professor James McWha AO, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Adelaide.

On Friday morning His Excellency the Governor met with Mr Andrew Fletcher, Chief Executive Officer, Defence SA.

Afterwards at Government House the Governor received Mr Paul Easter, General Manager SA/WA/NT of Gallagher Bassett Services Pty Ltd.

In the afternoon the Governor and Mrs Scarce, as guests of His Honour Chief Judge Terry Worthington, attended a luncheon in the District Court Judges' Common Room, Adelaide.

Later the Governor, as patron of The Royal Life Saving Society Australia - South Australian Branch, accompanied by Mrs Scarce, officially opened the newly refurbished premises at Cowandilla.

In the evening the Governor, as patron of Down Syndrome SA, and Mrs Scarce attended the 'Beat the Drum' Gala Dinner at the National Wine Centre.

On Thursday morning at Government House His Excellency the Governor presided over a meeting of the Executive Council.

Afterwards at Elizabeth, the Governor, accompanied by Mrs Scarce, toured the BoysTown South Australia office before addressing the participants of the Northern Adelaide Youth Enterprise Partnership.

In the afternoon in Adelaide, the Governor, as a guest of Carnegie Mellon University - Heinz College Australia, attended a luncheon for Ms Karen Lanyon, Australian Consul-General Designate to Los Angeles, during her visit to Adelaide.

Later at Government House the Governor received Mr Hieu Van Le AO, Lieutenant Governor of South Australia.

Afterwards the Governor received members of the Australian Political Exchange Council - 29th Delegation from the USA.

In the evening the Governor hosted a dinner for members of the Executive Council.

On Wednesday afternoon at the Stamford Plaza Adelaide, His Excellency the Governor, as a guest of the Hon Jay Weatherill MP, Premier of South Australia, attended an official luncheon for His Excellency Mr Chen Yuming, Ambassador of the People's Republic of China, to celebrate the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding to Promote Bilateral Relations and Economic Cooperation between the State Government and the Embassy of the People's Republic of China.

Later the Governor, as patron, and Mrs Scarce received Professor Chris West, former Chief Executive Officer of Royal Zoological Society of SA, and Mrs Diane West.

In the evening at the Adelaide Festival Centre, the Governor and Mrs Scarce attended the program launch of the OzAsia Festival 2012.

In the evening the Governor, as patron, and Mrs Scarce hosted a reception in celebration of the 35th birthday of SIDS and Kids South Australia.

On Sunday, the Governor, as Deputy Prior of St John Ambulance Australia South Australia, accompanied by Mrs Scarce, attended the Annual Service of Rededication at St Augustine's Church, Unley.

In the afternoon the Governor and Mrs Scarce attended the Gala Concert ‘Youth Revolution' performed by Adelaide Youth Orchestras at the Adelaide Town Hall.

On Saturday morning His Excellency the Governor and Mrs Scarce attended a Charity Race Day, hosted by the Adelaide Appeals Committee at the Morphettville Racecourse.

On Friday morning at Government House His Excellency the Governor met with Mr Andrew Fletcher, Chief Executive Officer of Defence SA.

Afterwards at the Sir Samuel Way Building, Adelaide, His Excellency the Governor and Mrs Scarce attended a special sitting of the Supreme Court of South Australia to mark the retirement of The Honourable John Doyle AC, Chief Justice of South Australia followed by morning tea.

Later His Excellency the Governor, as patron of South Australian Rugby Union, attended the Kilikanoon SA Rugby Business Luncheon, at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre.

In the afternoon the Governor, as Deputy Prior, and Mrs Scarce hosted an Investiture Ceremony for The Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St John in Jerusalem in South Australia.

In the evening, His Excellency the Governor and Mrs Scarce attended the Diamond Jubilee Year Royal Presidents' Dinner, hosted by The Royal Society of St George in Australia - Adelaide Branch at the TAFE SA Regency Campus.

In the afternoon at Government House the Governor and Mrs Scarce were joined for luncheon by the Honourable Karlene Maywald and Ms Kathryn Francombe.

In the evening the Governor and Mrs Scarce, as guests of the Australian Flying Corps and Royal Australian Air Force Association National Council, attended the 2012 Annual General Meeting Dinner at the Stamford Plaza Adelaide.

Afterwards at the Adelaide Festival Centre, the Governor and Mrs Scarce, as guests of the Adelaide Festival Centre Foundation, attended the Valentine's Day in June dinner and performance by Kate Ceberano and Paul Grabowski.

In the evening at Government House, His Excellency and Mrs Scarce hosted a reception in honour of the birthday of Her Majesty The Queen, and to celebrate the Commonwealth Day theme ‘Connecting Cultures'.

Afterwards His Excellency the Governor, as patron, accompanied by Mrs Scarce, attended an Annual Dinner hosted by the Royal United Services Institute of South Australia at the Naval Military and Air Force Club.
