On Wednesday morning His Excellency the Governor and Mrs Scarce concluded their regional Vice-Regal visit to the Riverland and returned to Adelaide.

In the afternoon at Government House, the Governor, as patron, was joined for luncheon by Commodore Bob Willis RANR, President of the Legacy Club of Adelaide.

Later the Governor received Ms Sarah Kelly, Member of the South Australian Rhodes Scholarship Selection Committee.

In the evening the Governor and Mrs Scarce hosted a reception for the Australian International 3 Day Horse Event.

On Tuesday morning in Loxton, His Excellency the Governor and Mrs Scarce commenced their regional Vice-Regal visit to the Riverland with tours of the facilities at Riverland Aquaponics Centre; Wild ‘n' Fresh Pty Ltd; and the Loxton Stormwater Re-use Project.

In the afternoon the Governor and Mrs Scarce visited Plummer's Nurseries in Renmark; before proceeding to Berri where the Governor, as patron of Foodbank SA, and Mrs Scarce toured the Riverland Foodbank operations and met with volunteers.

Later the Governor and Mrs Scare received a briefing at JMA Engineering Grit Blast, and toured the redevelopment of the Riverland Regional Hospital.

In the evening at the Berri Resort Hotel, the Governor and Mrs Scarce were guests of honour at a cocktail party hosted by the Berri Barmera Council; Renmark Paringa Council and District Council of Loxton Waikerie; and afterwards the Governor and Mrs Scarce hosted a dinner for the Mayors of the Riverland Councils.

On Monday morning Mrs Scarce undertook a radio interview about food and Christmas with Ms Lidia Moretti at 1197am RPH Adelaide at Mile End.

In the evening His Excellency the Governor, accompanied by Mrs Scarce, addressed the guests at the Fremont-Elizabeth City High School Academic Achievement Awards Night at Shedley Theatre, Elizabeth, before departing Adelaide for a regional Vice-Regal visit to the Riverland.

On Sunday afternoon the Governor, as patron of the Royal South Australian Society of Arts, officially opened the Spring Exhibition Boing! Boing! at the RSASA Gallery, Adelaide.

In the evening the Governor and Mrs Scarce, as guests of Australian School of Performing Arts, attended the Annual Concert at the Adelaide Town Hall.

Throughout Sunday, the Governor and Mrs Scarce greeted members of the public during the Government House Open Day.

On Saturday evening the Governor and Mrs Scarce, as guests of Yalari Limited, attended the inaugural Adelaide Dinner at St Peter's College.

On Friday morning His Excellency the Governor met with Mr Andrew Fletcher, Chief Executive Officer of Defence SA.

Later at Government House the Governor, as patron, received Mr Kevin McGuinness, President; Dr Carla Litchfield; Vice-President and Ms Elaine Bensted, Chief Executive Officer of the Royal Zoological Society of South Australia.

In the afternoon the Governor, as patron of Meals on Wheels (SA), accompanied by Mrs Scarce, addressed the volunteers and presented awards at the annual Awardee Luncheon at Allan Scott Park, Morphettville.

On Thursday morning at Government House His Excellency the Governor presided over a meeting of the Executive Council.

Later the Governor and Mrs Scarce received The Honourable Hillary Rodham Clinton, Secretary of State of the United States of America, for a courtesy call, which The Honourable Jay Weatherill MP, Premier of South Australia joined.

In the afternoon the Governor, as patron, and Mrs Scarce hosted a reception for the presentation of awards for Debating SA.

Later at the Norwood Town Hall, the Governor, as patron of The Leaders Institute of South Australia and accompanied by Mrs Scarce, attended the Governor's Leadership Foundation graduation ceremony.

In the evening at the National Wine Centre, His Excellency the Governor and Mrs Scarce attended the 5th anniversary celebration of the Freemasons Foundation Centre for Men's Health.

Afterwards the Governor, as patron, and Mrs Scarce attended the Australian Paralympic Committee South Australia Christmas Dinner Party at Tennyson.

On Wednesday morning at Government House His Excellency the Governor received the Honourable Lyn Breuer MP, Speaker of the House of Assembly.

Afterwards the Governor, as a guest of the Adelaide Hills Council, addressed the gathering and launched the report 'Our Future is NOW: Directions for youth development in local government' at the Unley Civic Centre.

Later the Governor, as patron of the Northern Advanced Manufacturing Industry Group, addressed the gathering at the Concept2Creation Expo at the Golden Grove Arts Centre.

In the evening at Government House the Governor, as Chief Scout, and Mrs Scarce hosted a reception to thank supporters and volunteers of Scouts Australia - South Australian Branch.

On Tuesday evening His Excellency the Governor, as Patron-in-Chief of the Australia Day Council of South Australia, accompanied by Mrs Scarce, addressed the guests and presented certificates to finalists, and presented an award to the successful 2013 Australian of the Year for South Australia at a ceremony at Adelaide Oval.

On Monday afternoon at Government House His Excellency the Governor, as patron of The Paraplegic and Quadriplegic Association of SA, and Mrs Scarce hosted a reception for the presentation of the biennial President's Awards.

In the evening the Governor attended a dinner hosted by Defence SA at The Adelaide Club.

In the morning community volunteers toured Government House.

On Sunday morning the Governor and Mrs Scarce placed a tribute in memory of the fallen at the Field of Remembrance on North Terrace before attending the Annual Observance of Remembrance at the SA National War Memorial.

On Saturday morning His Excellency the Governor and Mrs Scarce participated in the 2012 Credit Union Christmas Pageant.

On Friday morning His Excellency the Governor, as patron of The Repat Foundation, and Mrs Scarce attended the 2012 Remembrance Day Business Breakfast at the Adelaide Town Hall.

In the afternoon at the North Adelaide Golf Course, the Governor, as patron of Special Olympics South Australia, participated in the inaugural golf day to support the Trans-Tasman and Junior Games, and later presented awards to the winning teams.

On Thursday morning at Government House His Excellency the Governor presided over a meeting of the Executive Council.

Afterwards the Governor, as patron of the Reserves Support Council (South Australia), hosted the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of South Australia and the Commonwealth of Australia to support the Defence Reserves.

Later the Governor met with Mr Andrew Fletcher, Chief Executive Officer, Defence SA.

In the afternoon at the Adelaide Botanic Gardens, the Governor, as patron, and Mrs Scarce attended an afternoon tea picnic to celebrate the 35th Anniversary of The Friends of the Botanic Gardens of Adelaide.

In the evening at Government House the Governor and Mrs Scarce hosted a reception for principals, teachers and other representatives of northern Adelaide schools.

Afterwards the Governor, as patron of the Defence Reserves Support Council, accompanied by Mrs Scarce, presented the Prince of Wales Award and State Employer Support Award at a ceremony at the State Library of South Australia.

On Wednesday morning at Government House His Excellency the Governor received Mr Tony Piccolo MP, Deputy Speaker of the House of Assembly.

In the afternoon at Adelaide Airport, the Governor and Mrs Scarce welcomed His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales and Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cornwall to South Australia.

Later, they accompanied Their Royal Highnesses outside the Adelaide Rowing Club as Their Royal Highnesses greeted members of the public.

Immediately afterwards, the Governor accompanied His Royal Highness to the Adelaide Convention Centre, where His Royal Highness received a briefing on the State's economic activity and the riverside precinct development.

Later at Government House, the Governor and Mrs Scarce accompanied Their Royal Highnesses at a meeting with Fauna Rescue of South Australia volunteers and two rescued koalas.

Afterwards in the grounds of Government House, the Governor and Mrs Scarce hosted a Diamond Jubilee Reception in the presence of Their Royal Highnesses to acknowledge the achievement and service of South Australians.

On Tuesday morning at Government House His Excellency the Governor received Mr Ali Baghaei, Chief Executive Officer of Oceanlinx.

On Monday afternoon at Government House His Excellency the Governor, as patron-in-chief of The Bob Hawke Prime Ministerial Centre of the University of South Australia, and Mrs Scarce hosted a luncheon in association with the Annual Hawke Lecture.  Guests included Mr Richard Woolcott AC, 2012 Hawke Lecturer; The Honourable Bob Hawke AC; Dr Ian Gould AM, Chancellor; Professor Pal Ahluwalia and Ms Elizabeth Ho OAM.

In the evening the Governor, as patron-in-chief of The Bob Hawke Prime Ministerial Centre of the University of South Australia, and Mrs Scarce attended the 2012 Annual Hawke Lecture at the Adelaide Town Hall.

On Sunday afternoon the Governor, as Honorary Member of the Naval, Military and Air Force Club of SA, and Mrs Scarce attended a reception and luncheon in celebration of the Diamond Jubilee Year of Her Majesty The Queen.

Later, as guests of the Two Wells Sub Branch, the Governor, as patron of the Returned and Services League of Australia (SA Branch) and accompanied by Mrs Scarce officially launched the book "Beyond Dark Clouds" by Dr Glen Edwards at the Two Wells Community Centre.

In the evening the Governor, as patron of the United Nations Association of Australia - South Australia Division, and Mrs Scarce attended the United Nations Day Dinner with guest speaker Robyn Layton AO QC at Ming's Palace Restaurant, Adelaide.

On Saturday afternoon His Excellency the Governor, as patron of the Royal South Australian Yacht Squadron, officially opened the sailing season at Outer Harbor.
 

 

On Friday morning at Government House His Excellency the Governor met with Mr Andrew Fletcher, Chief Executive Officer, Defence SA.

Later in the morning Mrs Scarce, as a guest of the South Australia Division of Local Government Managers Australia, addressed the 2012 Women's State Conference at the National Wine Centre.

In the afternoon at Government House the Governor and Mrs Scarce hosted an afternoon tea to celebrate 40 years of The Women's Electoral Lobby.

On Thursday morning at Government House His Excellency the Governor presided over a meeting of the Executive Council.

Afterwards the Governor received Mr David Sefton, Artistic Director of the Adelaide Festival Corporation and Ms Laura Kroetsch, Director of Adelaide Writers Week.

In the afternoon at North Adelaide, the Governor, accompanied by Mrs Scarce, who is patron of Ronald McDonald House Adelaide, addressed the guests and presented certificates to riders participating in the final stage of the Ride for Sick Kids.

In the evening the Governor, as patron of the Service to Youth Council, addressed the guests and presented certificates at the Training Prospects Graduation Ceremony at the Playford Civic Centre, Elizabeth.

On Wednesday morning at the Adelaide Oval, His Excellency the Governor attended the official launch of the Adelaide Oval Stadium Management Authority.

In the afternoon at Government House the Governor, as patron of the National Trust of South Australia, received Mr David Beaumont, President; Mr Eric Heapy, Chief Executive Officer and Professor Norman Etherington, Councillor.

In the evening at Northgate House, Unley Park, the Governor and Mrs Scarce, as patrons of UNESCO Clubs - Adelaide Chapter, attended a ceremony where the Governor addressed the guests and presented the 2012 Achievement Awards.

On Tuesday morning at Government House, His Excellency the Governor received Ms Gail Jackman, Industry Liaison Manager, Division of Information Technology, Engineering and the Environment, University of South Australia and Ms Sarah Arend, Mr Robert Knight, Ms Samantha Morris, Mr Conor Quail, Mr Samuel Rodda, Ms Suem Valiyff, Ms Alysha Wurst, students of the University.

Afterwards at the Adelaide Club, His Excellency the Governor, as patron of The Order of Australia Association - South Australian Branch, accompanied by Mrs Scarce, attended an informal luncheon with committee members.

In the evening at Government House, His Excellency the Governor, as patron of Minda Inc, and Mrs Scarce hosted a reception to thank volunteers and supporters of Minda.

Later His Excellency the Governor, as patron of the Friends of the State Library of South Australia, accompanied by Mrs Scarce, launched the book ‘Narrative of a Survey of the Intertropical and Western Coasts of Australia, Between the Years 1818 and 1822', by Captain Phillip Parker King.

On Monday morning Mrs Scarce participated in the judging for the Playford Alive Local Heroes 2012 Awards at the Riverside Centre.

In the afternoon Mrs Scarce addressed the guests at the presentation of the 2012 Better Practice Award for the ‘Panda' Palliative Care Approach at LHI Retirement Services, Glynde.

In the evening at Government House His Excellency the Governor and Mrs Scarce, who is patron, hosted a reception to thank supporters of Catherine House.

On Sunday morning the Governor, as Chief Scout of Scouts Australia - South Australian Branch, accompanied by Mrs Scarce, addressed the gathering and presented the Queen's Scout, the Baden-Powell and Adult Good Service Awards at a ceremony at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre.

On Saturday morning in Robe, His Excellency the Governor and Mrs Scarce continued their regional Vice-Regal visit to the State's South East with a tour of the Sky Seafoods facilities, followed by a tour of the Robe Country Fire Service and SA Ambulance, where they met with volunteers.

Afterwards at McCorquindale Park, Penola, the Governor, accompanied by Mrs Scarce officially opened the 148th annual Penola Pastoral, Agricultural and Horticultural Show at a luncheon, followed by a tour of the showground, before returning to Adelaide in the evening.

In the evening the Governor and Mrs Scarce, who is patron of Girl Guides South Australia, met with guests at the Centenary Campfire at Elder Park.

On Friday His Excellency the Governor and Mrs Scarce continued their regional Vice-Regal visit to the South East of the State.  In the morning the Governor and Mrs Scarce travelled to Robe, where they met with members of the District Council of Robe in the afternoon.

In the afternoon, the Governor and Mrs Scarce toured the facilities at Mahalia Coffee and Robarra Pty Ltd in Robe.

Later at the Fox's Lake Bird Hide, the Governor and Mrs Scarce met with community project volunteers associated with Coastcare and Friends of Little Dip.

In the evening at Campbell Park Station, the Governor and Mrs Scarce attended a dinner hosted by Ms Robbie Davis, and on Friday morning the Governor and Mrs Scarce visited the Meningie Cheese Factory Museum.

On Thursday morning at Government House His Excellency the Governor presided over a meeting of the Executive Council.

Afterwards the Governor and Mrs Scarce departed Adelaide for a regional Vice-Regal visit to the State's South East.

In the afternoon at The Coorong District Council Customer Service Centre in Tailem Bend, the Governor and Mrs Scarce attended a luncheon with council members, followed by a tour of the Coorong Wild Seafood processing facility at Meningie.

Later at Meningie, the Governor, as patron of Orana, and Mrs Scarce toured the Melaleuca Nursery, followed by an afternoon tea at the Lakes Hub with community representatives, and a walk along the Interpretive Pathway Pelican Path.

In the evening at Campbell Park Station, the Governor and Mrs Scarce attended a dinner hosted by Ms Robbie Davis.

His Excellency the Governor has appointed the Lieutenant Governor, Mr Hieu Van Le AO, as Governor's Deputy from 10:00 am on Thursday 25th October until 6:30 pm on Saturday 27th October 2012.

In the evening at AAMI Stadium, West Lakes, His Excellency the Governor's Deputy addressed the guests at 2012 Annual General Meeting Dinner on behalf of the Governor, who is patron of the Local Government Association of South Australia.

On Wednesday morning at Government House His Excellency the Governor received The Honourable Mike Rann, High Commissioner designate to the United Kingdom and Mr Alex Brooking, State Director of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.

Afterwards the Governor hosted a morning tea for the ‘Governor's 10' team who, along with the Governor will be participating in the 2013 Cancer Council SA "Ride for a Reason".

Later the Governor received Mr Nick Buckland, Ms Carina Gun and Mr Lane Hinchcliffe, Directors, and Ms Kaylene Graham, Marketing & Fundraising Manager of Up Front Productions.

In the afternoon the Governor received Mr Hieu Van Le AO, Lieutenant Governor of South Australia.

Later the Governor and Mrs Scarce hosted a reception to welcome members of the Mediterranean Garden Society to Adelaide.

In the evening at the Adelaide Town Hall, the Governor and Mrs Sarce attended the Lord Mayoral Reception to welcome delegates attending the annual Local Government Association Conference and General Meeting.

On Tuesday morning at St Brigid's Catholic School, Evanston, His Excellency the Governor, accompanied by Mrs Scarce, addressed the students as part of the International School Libraries Month, followed by a tour of the library.

In the afternoon at Government House the Governor received The Right Honourable The Lord Mayor of the City of Adelaide, Mr Stephen Yarwood.

In the evening the Governor, as patron, and Mrs Scarce hosted a reception for the South Australian Health and Medical Research Institute.

Afterwards the Governor, as patron of Hands On SA, accompanied by Mrs Scarce, presented awards at the 2012 Hands On SA Award Ceremony at Adelaide Central Gallery, Norwood.
