On Thursday morning His Excellency the Governor presided over a meeting of the Executive Council.

Afterwards the Governor and Mrs Scarce attended the Funeral Service for the late Mr Roger Cundell OAM at St Peter's Cathedral.

In the evening at HMAS HARMAN, Canberra, the Governor was Guest of Honour and after dinner speaker at the Navy Supply Community Mess Dinner.

The Governor has appointed the Lieutenant Governor, Mr Hieu Van Le AO as Governor's Deputy from 12:00 noon on Thursday 28th July until 2:00 pm on Friday 29th July 2011 during his absence from the State.

On Wednesday morning at Government House His Excellency the Governor, as patron of Foodbank SA, received Mr Stephen Gerlach AM, Chairman and Mr Richard Pagliaro, Chief Executive Officer.

In the afternoon the Governor and Mrs Scarce were joined for lunch by Mr Bill Muirhead, Agent General for South Australia in the United Kingdom, and Mrs Jeanne Muirhead.

Later the Governor received a delegation from the Shandong Federation of Industry and Commence visiting from China.

On Tuesday afternoon His Excellency the Governor, as a guest of His Excellency Mr P Madden, British High Commissioner, attended the Magna Carta Lecture 2011 "Tjukurrpa: for the Indigenous peoples of the world" at the Adelaide Town Hall.

In the afternoon at Government House the Governor, as patron of Special Olympics South Australia, and Mrs Scarce, hosted a reception to welcome home the South Australian 2011 Special Olympic Athletes.

On Monday evening His Excellency the Governor addressed guests and presented awards at the 2011 Dawn Slade-Faull Awards at the Disability Information and Resource Centre.

On Saturday at The Royal Adelaide Golf Club His Excellency the Governor, as patron, participated in the annual Ackland Horman Trophy followed by a presentation lunch.

On Friday morning His Excellency the Governor met with Mr Andrew Fletcher, Chief Executive Officer of Defence SA.

Afterwards the Governor received Mr Douglas Caster CBE, Chairman of Ultra Electronics Holdings Plc.

Later at the Botanic Gardens of Adelaide the Governor and Mrs Scarce attended the launch of the Western Entrance and the Garden of Health, followed by the opening of the Ginkgo Gate.

In the evening at The Royal Adelaide Golf Club the Governor, as patron, attended the Members' Club Dinner.

On Thursday morning His Excellency the Governor presided over a meeting of the Executive Council.

In the afternoon the Governor, as patron of the Royal Geographical Society of South Australia Inc, and Mrs Scarce attended the ‘Women Explorers' Lecture, followed by a tour of the Society's library at the Institute Building, North Terrace, Adelaide.

In the evening the Governor and Mrs Scarce attended a gala dinner held by the Australian Institute of Company Directors to pay tribute to former Governor Sir Eric Neal AC CVO FAICD at the InterContinental Adelaide.

On Wednesday evening at Government House His Excellency the Governor and Mrs Scarce hosted a dinner for Professor Michael Worton, Vice-Provost, Academic & International,  University College London (UK).  Other guests included Mr David Knox, Chief Executive Officer, Santos Ltd & Mrs Clare Knox; Mr David Travers, Chief Executive, University College London, School of Energy and Resources, Australia; Mr Bronte Treloar, Chief Financial Officer & Ms Margaret Klass, and Ms Paula Nage.

On Monday afternoon His Excellency the Governor, as patron, and Mrs Scarce attended a 90th birthday luncheon of the Tubercular Soldiers' Aid Society of South Australia at the Hilton Adelaide.

In the evening at Government House the Governor and Mrs Scarce hosted a reception to welcome delegates attending the International Conference for Women Engineers and Scientists.

On Saturday afternoon His Excellency the Governor, as Ambassador of the Central District Football Club Inc, attended the President's pre-match function and the match Central District v West Adelaide at Playford Alive Oval, Elizabeth. 

In the evening the Governor, accompanied by Mrs Scarce, addressed the guests and presented awards at the African Chamber of Commerce Nationals Awards evening at the Adelaide Convention Centre.

On Friday morning His Excellency the Governor met with Mr Andrew Fletcher, Chief Executive Officer, Defence SA.

In the afternoon the Governor attended a luncheon with Mr James Bruce at the Adelaide Club.

In the evening the Governor and Mrs Scarce hosted a dinner at Government House.  Guests included Mr D Totino OAM, Managing Director of Festival City Wines & Spirits Pty Limited, & Mrs C Totino; Mr F Totino and Mr C Jarmer, Proprietor of Chris Jarmer @ Air & Mrs L Jarmer.

Later in the morning at Government House the Governor received Australia's Ambassador Designate to Greece, Ms Jenny Bloomfield.

Afterwards at Government House the Governor and Mrs Scarce hosted a luncheon for Ms Frances Adamson, Australia's Ambassador Designate to China. Accompanying Ms Adamson was Mr Keith Gardner, State Director of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.

In the evening the Governor and Mrs Scarce attended the Bastille Gala dinner hosted by The French-Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry South Australia at the Intercontinental Hotel Adelaide.

On Wednesday His Excellency the Governor, as a guest of Santos Ltd, toured several sites within the Cooper Basin in north-eastern South Australia, as part of a series of visits to industry.  Sites visited included the Saxon Drill Rig and Innamincka.

The Governor returned to Adelaide in the afternoon.

On Tuesday afternoon His Excellency the Governor travelled to Moomba as a guest of Mr David Knox, Chief Executive Officer of Santos Limited, as a part of a series of visits to industry.

In the evening the Governor participated in a tour of the Moomba Plant, followed by a dinner with the Santos senior management team.

The Governor has appointed the Lieutenant Governor, Mr Hieu Van Le AO, as Governor's Deputy from 8:00 am on Tuesday 12th May until 6:00 pm Wednesday 13th July 2011.

On Monday morning at Government House His Excellency the Governor, as patron of the United Nations Youth Association of Australia - South Australian Division, and Mrs Scarce hosted a reception to welcome delegates attending the 2011 United Nations National Youth Conference.

In the evening at the UniSA Magill Campus, the Governor participated in an interview on the ‘Our Time' program on Adelaide Television Digital Channel 44.

In the morning community volunteers toured Government House.

On Sunday afternoon, as guests of the Returned and Services League of Australia - Seaton Park Sub-Branch, the Governor, accompanied by Mrs Scarce, addressed the gathering at the 100th anniversary celebrations of the granting of the title "Royal Australian Navy" to the Commonwealth Naval Forces.

On Saturday morning at the Adelaide Event & Exhibition Centre, Wayville, His Excellency the Governor, accompanied by Mrs Scarce, addressed the guests at the opening of the 2011 National Disaster Recue Competition, organised by the South Australian State Emergency Service and the Northern Territory Emergency Service.

In the afternoon the Governor, accompanied by Mrs Scarce, officially opened the inaugural Port Youth Arts Festival at the Port Adelaide Community Arts Centre.

On Friday morning at Government House His Excellency the Governor met with Mr Andrew Fletcher, Chief Executive Officer, Defence SA.

In the evening the Governor and Mrs Scarce hosted a reception for State & Territory Emergency Service representatives associated with this weekend's National Disaster Rescue Competition.

Later the Governor received Associate Professor Keith McVilly, Associate Professor Bob Davis and Professor Lisa Wang from the International Association for the Scientific Study of Intellectual Disability (IASSID).

On Wednesday morning at the Torrens Parade Ground His Excellency the Governor, as a guest of Flinders University and the RAAF Association of South Australia, addressed the gathering and launched the book POW: Australian Prisoners of War in Hitler's Reich by Associate Professor Peter Monteath of the School of International Studies at Flinders University.

In the afternoon the Governor, accompanied by Mrs Scarce who is an Honorary Member, attended the 89th birthday luncheon of the Lyceum Club (Adelaide) Inc at the Clubrooms in Adelaide.

On Tuesday morning His Excellency the Governor visited the SA Water Adelaide Desalination Plant at Lonsdale as part of a series of visits to industry.

In the evening at Government House the Governor and Mrs Scarce hosted a reception to welcome delegates attending the Australian Resources Chinese Investment Congress.

His Excellency the Governor, as ambassador, and Mrs Scarce will be participating in the Winter Warm Up Walk throughout the week to raise awareness for the UnitingCare Wesley Bowden Emergency Assistance Program.

On Sunday morning the Governor, as Deputy Prior of St John Ambulance Australia South, attended the Annual Service of Rededication at St Augustine's Church, Unley.

On Saturday in Mount Gambier, His Excellency the Governor, as patron of the Reserve Forces Day Council - SA, reviewed the Reserve Forces Day Parade and addressed the gathering, and remained for a luncheon hosted by the Mount Gambier RSL Sub-Branch, before returning to Adelaide in evening.

On Friday morning His Excellency the Governor met with Mr Andrew Fletcher, Chief Executive Officer, Defence SA.

Later at Government House the Governor presided over a meeting of the Executive Council.

In the afternoon the Governor attended the State Funeral for the late the Honourable Len King AC QC, former Attorney-General and Chief Justice, at St Ignatius Catholic Church, Norwood.

In the evening the Governor, as honorary member, and Mrs Scarce attended the Golden Anniversary Dinner of the Lions Club of the City of Adelaide at the North Adelaide Football Club Function Centre, Prospect.

On Thursday morning at the InterContinental Adelaide His Excellency the Governor, as a guest of the Defence Teaming Centre Inc, attended "Boots on the Ground in Cyber Space" - A Breakfast with Tim Scully, Chief Executive Officer of Stratsec and Head of Cyber Security at BAE Systems Australia.

Afterwards the Governor presided over a meeting of the Executive Council.

In the evening at ABC Local Radio SA, Collinswood, the Governor participated in a "SA Report" panel discussion on social issues hosted by Mr Peter Goers.

In the late morning Year 12 students from Immanuel College toured Government House.

On Wednesday morning at Government House, His Excellency the Governor received the Honourable Lyn Breuer MP, Speaker of the House of Assembly.

Afterwards the Governor, as a guest of the Defence Teaming Centre Inc, viewed the Defence State stand at the Defence and Industry Trade Expo at the Adelaide Convention Centre.

In the afternoon the Governor, as Honorary Member of the Rotary Club of Adelaide, attended the annual Presidential Change-over luncheon at the Adelaide Oval.

Later at Government House the Governor received Professor Robert Clark, Chief Defence Scientist, Defence Science and Technology Organisation.

On Tuesday morning, students from Stradbroke Primary School toured Government House.

In the afternoon at Government House, in the presence of the Honourable Justice Susan Crennan AC of the High Court of Australia, His Excellency the Governor took oaths of office and allegiance required to enable him to act, if called upon, as Administrator of the Commonwealth.

Afterwards at Government House the Governor and Mrs Scarce hosted a luncheon for the Honourable Justice Susan Crennan AC, High Court of Australia. Other guests included Ms Cella Winnett, High Court of Australia and Mr Chris Angus, Secretary for the Federal Executive Council.

In the evening the Governor was the guest speaker at the ‘South Australia - The Defence State' dinner hosted by Defence SA at the National Wine Centre.

On Monday morning, students from Stradbroke Primary School toured Government House. In the afternoon at Government House the Governor hosted a reception for a visiting delegation from Vietnam attending a short course at Carnegie Mellon University - Heinz College Australia.

In the evening His Excellency the Governor and Mrs Scarce hosted a dinner at Government House. Guests included; Mr D Simmons, Chairman of Ronald McDonald House Adelaide & Mrs K Simmons; Ms J Reilly, Weather Presenter for Network Ten - Adelaide Ltd and Officer Cadet Joseph Noble.
