On Friday morning His Excellency the Governor attended the Major General Arnold Fields Breakfast, hosted by Carnegie Mellon University, as part of the CEDA International Series.

Later at Government House, as patron, the Governor received the Heads of Music from the Special Interest Music Centres in South Australia. Callers included Mr Jeffrey Kong, Deputy Principal, Brighton Secondary School; Ms Leanda Herring, Deputy Principal, Woodville High School; Mr Aldis Sils, Deputy Principal, Marratville High School and Ms Janice Leahy, Deputy Principal, Fremont Elizabeth City High School.

In the afternoon the Governor, as patron, attended the 2011 Royal Adelaide Show Official Luncheon, hosted by the Royal Agricultural and Horticultural Society of SA at the Adelaide Showgrounds.

Afterwards at Government House, the Governor received Mr Andrew Fletcher, Chief Executive, Defence SA.

In the evening at Government House, the Governor and Mrs Scarce hosted a reception for the South Australian participants in the National Youth Science Forum.

Later the Governor and Mrs Scarce attended the Grand Opening of the restaurant ‘A Hereford Beefstouw' in Hutt Street, Adelaide.

On Thursday morning His Excellency the Governor presided over a meeting of the Executive Council.

Afterwards at Government House His Excellency the Governor and Mrs Scarce hosted an Investiture ceremony and reception for recipients of Australian Honours.

In the afternoon the Governor and Mrs Scarce attended the ‘Conversation with Mr Simon McKeon - 2011 Australian of the Year' luncheon at the State Library of South Australia.

Later His Excellency the Governor attended a ceremony for the presentation of the 2011 SA Health Aboriginal Scholarships at the Crowne Plaza Hotel.

In the evening the Governor, as patron of The Kapelle Singers, and Mrs Scarce attended the performance of ‘Elijah' at the Adelaide Town Hall.

On Wednesday morning His Excellency the Governor and Mrs Scarce hosted an Investiture ceremony and reception for recipients of Australian Honours, including the Public Service, Australian Fire Service, Ambulance Service, and Emergency Services Medals.  After the ceremony the Governor and Mrs Scarce hosted a luncheon. Guests included Mr W McCann, Commissioner for Public Employment; Mrs B McCann; Mr D Place, Chief Executive, SA Fire and Emergency Services Commission; Mrs C Place; Mr G Nettleton, Chief Officer, SA Country Fire Service; Mr R Creen, Chief Executive, SA Ambulance Service; Mrs S Creen; Mr C Beattie, Chief Officer, State Emergency Service SA; Ms B Smart, representing the SA Representative to the Council for the Order of Australia and the Honorary Aides-de-Camp to the Governor who assisted at the ceremony.

In the afternoon at Government House, the Governor received Major General Arnold Fields, Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction, and Mr Terry Buss, Executive Director, Carnegie Mellon University.

On Tuesday monrning His Excellency the Governor and Mrs Scarce hosted an Investiture ceremony and reception for recipients of Australian Honours, including the Australian Police Medal, and decorations for Conspicuous Service and Bravery. After the ceremony the Governor and Mrs Scarce hosted a luncheon. Guests included Mr H V Le AO, Lieutenant Governor of SA; Mrs L Le; Air Commodore N Derwort CSC, Senior Defence Force Representative - SA; Ms P Koitka; Colonel M Burgess, Army Area Representative - SA; Ms K Pongsukwelchkul; Commander M Doherty ADC RAN, Commanding Officer of Navy Headquarters - SA; Mrs P Doherty; Mr M Hyde AO APM, Commissioner of South Australia Police; Mrs M Hyde; Mr W Denny AM, SA Representative, Australian Bravery Decorations Council and the Honorary Aides-de-Camp to the Governor who assisted at the ceremony.

In the afternoon the Governor and Mrs Scarce visited the 2011 Royal Adelaide Show to view the ‘Naughty by Nature' performance at the Adelaide Showgrounds.

On Monday afternoon at the Flinders Medical Centre, Bedford Park, His Excellency the Governor, as patron of the Flinders Centre for Innovation in Cancer, toured the development site for the centre before attending the Cancer Fighting Luncheon.

On Saturday afternoon His Excellency the Governor as Ambassador of the Central District Football Club, attended the President's pre-match function and the match between Central District and Norwood at Playford Alive Oval, Elizabeth.  

On Friday morning at Government House, His Excellency the Governor received Mr Eberhard Becker, retiring Vice President, Mr Andreas Schwan, incoming Vice President of Siemens Marine Solutions and Mr Andrew Fletcher, Chief Executive of Defence SA.

In the afternoon the Governor hosted a Luncheon for members of the South Australian Agribusiness Council.

In the evening at Government House the Governor and Mrs Scarce hosted a reception to celebrate the OzAsia Festival 2011.

Later at the National Wine Centre, the Governor, as patron, accompanied by Mrs Scarce, attended the Dare to Dream Gala Dinner, hosted by University of Adelaide Robinson Foundation.

On Thursday morning His Excellency the Governor presided over a meeting of the Executive Council.

Afterwards at Prince Alfred College, the Governor addressed the gathering and laid the foundation stone of the Health and Sports Centre.

In the afternoon the Governor, as patron of the South Australian Sports Federation Inc (Sport SA), and Mrs Scarce attended the OAMPS Insurance Brokers / Sport SA Sport Leaders Luncheon at the Next Generation, North Adelaide.

Later at Government House the Governor received Mr Andrew Fletcher, Chief Executive, Defence SA.

In the evening the Governor and Mrs Scarce hosted a reception for the presentation of the 2011 South Australian Tall Poppy Awards.

Later the Governor, as patron of the Special Interest Music Centres in South Australia, and Mrs Scarce attended the 35th anniversary concert of Marryatville High School at the Adelaide Town Hall.

In the afternoon students from Para Hills High School toured Government House.

On Wednesday morning His Excellency the Governor took part in the be active Corporate Cup Challenge with the Government House staff team.

Later the Governor attended the inaugural Malaya and Borneo Veterans Day ceremony to commemorate the 45th anniversary of the cessation of the Indonesian Confrontation at the State National War Memorial.

On Tuesday evening His Excellency the Governor, as Patron, and Mrs Scarce attended the Legacy Week Black-Tie Dinner at the National Wine Centre of Australia as guests of the Legacy Club of Adelaide.

On Sunday morning the Governor, as patron of the Legacy Club of Adelaide Inc, participated in the Annual Legacy Kokoda "Isurava" Walk at Mount Lofty Summit.

Later at the Repatriation General Hospital Chapel, the Governor, accompanied by Mrs Scarce, laid a wreath at the commemoration service to mark the 63rd Anniversary of the Royal Australian Navy Fleet Air Arm, and in the afternoon attended a luncheon in the SPF Hall.

Later the Governor, as patron of Leveda Incorporated, and Mrs Scarce attended the Client Skit afternoon at the Golden Grove Arts Centre.

On Saturday afternoon His Excellency the Governor and Mrs Scarce, as guests of the Gerard Corporation Pty Ltd, attended the Adelaide Appeals Committee Charity Race Day at Allan Scott Park, Morphettville.

In the evening the Governor and Mrs Scarce, as patrons of the Childhood Cancer Association Inc, attended the Annual Gala Ball at Adelaide Oval.

On Friday morning at the Glenelg Golf Club, His Excellency the Governor, as patron of the Legacy Club of Adelaide Inc, participated in the Governor's Legacy Cup Competition Final, and in the afternoon presented the Governor's Cup and other trophies to the winners.

In the evening at Government House the Governor received Mr Hieu Van Le AO, Lieutenant Governor of South Australia.

On Thursday morning His Excellency the Governor presided over a meeting of the Executive Council.

Later the Governor received Mr Brett Duncanson, President of the Port Adelaide Football Club Ltd.

In the evening the Governor, as patron of Bedford, and Mrs Scarce attended the farewell cocktail reception for Chief Executive, Max Dyason, at the National Wine Centre of Australia.

On Tuesday morning at Semaphore South, His Excellency the Governor visited Le Fevre High School where he toured the Maritime Program facilities and met with students and teachers.

In the afternoon at Government House, the Governor and Mrs Scarce hosted a luncheon for His Excellency Mr Mouayed Saleh, Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq.  Other guests included Dr Ahmed Salih, Counsellor, Embassy of the Republic of Iraq, and Mrs Sandra Klein, Mr Mark Stanley, Mr Phillip Saunders, Ms Catherine Aldrete-Morris and Ms Caroline Batty, participants in the Governor's Leadership Foundation program.

In the afternoon Mrs Scarce received Mr Richard Heathcote, Director of Carrick Hill.

On Sunday morning His Excellency the Governor, accompanied by Mrs Scarce, received the Salute at the Vietnam Veterans' Day Parade and laid a wreath at the Memorial Service at Torrens Parade Ground, as guests of the Vietnam Veterans' Association of Australia - South Australia Branch.

On Thursday morning His Excellency Mr Hieu Van Le AO, as Governor's Deputy, presided over a meeting of the Executive Council.

The Governor has appointed the Lieutenant-Governor, Mr Hieu Van Le AO, as Governor's Deputy from 7:00 am on Saturday 6th August until 10:00 pm Saturday 20th August 2011 during his absence on leave.

On Friday morning His Excellency the Governor and Mrs Scarce participated in Walk a Mile in My Boots from Rundle Park to Hutt Street, in support of the Hutt Street Centre and to raise awareness of homelessness.

Afterwards the Governor, as patron of Foundation Daw Park Inc, attended the 2011 SA Defence and Veteran Health Research Paper Day at the Repatriation General Hospital, Daw Park.

In the afternoon at Government House the Governor met with Mr Andrew Fletcher, Chief Executive Officer, Defence SA.

In the evening the Governor and Mrs Scarce hosted a reception to welcome delegates attending the State History Conference in Adelaide.

Later at the Naval Military & Air Force Club, Adelaide, the Governor, as patron of The Pioneers Association of South Australia Inc, and Mrs Scarce attended a dinner in celebration of the State's 175th Birthday.

On Thursday morning His Excellency the Governor presided over a meeting of the Executive Council.

Afterwards at Government House the Governor and Mrs Scarce hosted a morning tea for Commander Steve Dunning RANR to acknowledge his contribution to Government House, and 20 years of service as an Honorary Aide-de-Camp.

In the evening at the City of Unley Civic Centre, the Governor, as patron, accompanied by Mrs Scarce, addressed the gathering at the Mayoral Reception in celebration of the 30th anniversary of Safer Communities Australia, hosted by His Worship the Mayor of the City of Unley, Mr Lachlan Clyne.

On Wednesday morning His Excellency the Governor and Mrs Scarce attended the Catholic Charities' 70th Anniversary Breakfast at the Adelaide Convention Centre.

Afterwards at Government House the Governor received Miss Chloe Fox MP, Deputy Speaker of the House of Assembly.

Later the Governor together with senior staff of St John Ambulance Australia SA participated in a Senior First Aid Training Course.

On Tuesday afternoon at Government House His Excellency the Governor hosted a luncheon for the launch of Carnegie Mellon University's Software Engineering Institute in Adelaide.  Guests from the University included Dr Mark Kamlet, Provost; Dr Paul Nielsen, Chief Executive Officer, Software Engineering Institute; Dr Ramayya Krishnan, Dean; Dr Terry Buss, Executive Director; and Mr Bryan Tamburro, Director of Strategic Initiatives.  Other guests included Professor Peter Hoj, Vice Chancellor, University of South Australia; Professor Michael Barber, Vice-Chancellor, Flinders University of South Australia; and Professor Michael Brooks, Acting Vice-Chancellor, University of Adelaide.

In the evening at the Torrens Building, Victoria Square, Adelaide, the Governor attended the launch of the Software Engineering Institute.

In the morning Year 6/7 students from Lake Windemere School toured Government House.

On Monday evening at Government House His Excellency the Governor and Mrs Scarce hosted a reception to thank volunteers supporting HeartKids of South Australia Inc.

On Saturday evening His Excellency the Governor, as patron of the Guide Dogs Association of SA and NT, and Mrs Scarce attended the annual black tie dinner "Anything Goes on the SS Guide Dogs" at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre.

On Friday afternoon His Excellency the Governor returned to Adelaide from Canberra.

Later the Governor presided over a meeting of the Executive Council at Government House.

In the evening the Governor, as patron of South Australian Division of The Duke of Edinburgh's Award, attended the biennial gala fundraising event at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Adelaide.

Afterwards the Governor, accompanied by Mrs Scarce, addressed the guests at the annual dinner of The Law Society of South Australia at the Hilton Adelaide.
