On Wednesday morning at the Old Gum Tree Reserve, Glenelg North, His Excellency the Governor, accompanied by Mrs Scarce, addressed the gathering at the 175th Proclamation Day ceremony as guests of the Mayor of the City of Holdfast Bay, Dr K Rollonds.

On Thursday morning at Government House His Excellency the Governor presided over a meeting of the Executive Council.

Afterwards the Governor received Mr Paul Easter, General Manager SA/WA/NT, Gallagher Bassett Services Pty Ltd.

In the evening the Governor and Mrs Scarce hosted a dinner.  Guests included Mr G Cooper AM, Chairman & Marketing Director of Coopers Brewery Ltd and Mrs E Cooper, and Dr T Cocchiaro AM, Chairman of the Australia Day Council of SA and Mrs T Cocchiaro.

On Friday morning His Excellency the Governor, as patron of the Phoenix Society, presented awards to recipients at the 2011 Metropolitan Awards Ceremony at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre.

On Wednesday evening at the Playford Civic Centre, Elizabeth, His Excellency the Governor, accompanied by Mrs Scarce, presented awards at the Playford Alive Local Heroes Awards 2011 celebratory dinner, hosted by the Land Management Corporation and City of Playford.

On Thursday afternoon at Government House, His Excellency the Governor and Mrs Scarce hosted a Christmas luncheon for their staff in appreciation of the contribution made by them to the office of the Governor.

On Wednesday morning His Excellency the Governor, as a guest of the Royal Institution of Australia, addressed the guests at the 2011 ASSETS Student Presentations at the Science Exchange, Adelaide.

In the afternoon at Government House the Governor presided over a meeting of the Executive Council.

Later the Governor departed Adelaide for Whyalla where, as patron of the Phoenix Society, he addressed the gathering at the 2011 Onesteel Whyalla Phoenix Awards Ceremony at the Middleback Theatre, before returning to Adelaide in the evening.

On Tuesday morning at Government House His Excellency the Governor convened the selection process for the inaugural Governor of South Australia's Commendations for Outstanding Achievement in the South Australian Certificate of Education.  The selection panel included Dr P Kilvert, Mr R Cairney, Dr L MacLeod, Mr P McAvaney, Dr A Mercurio, Ms B Rogers and Ms P Ronan, and was attended by Ms K Collins and Ms S Cobbin.

In the afternoon the Governor and Mrs Scarce hosted a reception to acknowledge the Year 11 and 12 schooling achievements of young people under the guardianship of the Minister for Families and Communities.

On Monday afternoon His Excellency the Governor attended the Graduation Ceremony for the University of South Australia at the Adelaide Festival Theatre.

In the evening at Government House the Governor received Mr T Kallis, Managing Director of Petratherm Limited; Mr D Hansen, Chief Executive Officer and Mrs I Hansen, and Mr C Judd, Chief Operations Officer, Suzlon Energy Australia; Mr B Hayes QC, Special Envoy to India; Mr G Knight, Chief Executive Officer of the Department for Manufacturing, Innovation, Trade, Resources and Energy, and Mr P Sgardelis, Project Manager and Mr J McFarlane, Farmer, Shareholder and Project Originator of the Ceres Project.

On Sunday evening His Excellency the Governor, as patron of The Kapelle Singers, accompanied by Mrs Scarce, delivered a reading at the Festival Service of Carols at Epiphany Church, Crafers.

On Friday morning His Excellency the Governor met with Mr Andrew Fletcher, Chief Executive Officer, Defence SA.

Later at Government House the Governor received Mr D Edgecombe of the Australia Indonesia Institute, and eighteen Youth Exchange Program participants from each country.

In the afternoon the Governor, as a guest of Mr D Totino OAM, toured the House of Saint Hilarion (Residential Aged Care) at Seaton, followed by a luncheon at Festival City Wines and Spirits at Albert Park.

Afterwards the Governor, as patron of the South Australian Jockey Club, and Mrs Scarce attended the Christmas Twilight Race Day at Morphettville Racecourse.

In the evening at Government House the Governor and Mrs Scarce hosted a dinner for his Honorary Aides-de-Camp in appreciation of the contribution made by them to the office of the Governor.

On Thursday morning at Government House His Excellency the Governor presided over a meeting of the Executive Council.

In the afternoon the Governor received Commander M Doherty ADC RAN, Commanding Officer of Navy Headquarters of SA and Commander A Williams ADC RAN.

Afterwards the Governor received Ms M Deslandes, Chair of the Community Foundation of South Australia.

On Wednesday morning at Government House, His Excellency the Governor, as patron of The Duke of Edinburgh's Award in South Australia, and Mrs Scarce, hosted a reception for the presentation of the 2011 Duke of Edinburgh's Gold Awards.

Afterwards the Governor and Mrs Scarce, as guests of UnitingCare Wesley Bowden Inc, participated in the 2011 Christmas Hamper Distribution Day at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre.

In the afternoon at Government House the Governor received Mr A Higham and Mr M Gantz from BTG Australasia Pty Ltd and Dr J Coombs from BioInnovations SA.

Afterwards the Governor received Mr F Urbancic, Consul-General of the United States of America.

In the evening the Governor and Mrs Scarce attended Christmas drinks hosted by Mr R Gerard AM and Mrs F Gerard OAM at Felixstow.

Afterwards the Governor amd Mrs Scarce attended a dinner hosted by Mr D Totino OAM and Mrs C Totino at West Lakes.

On Tuesday morning His Excellency the Governor departed Adelaide for Melbourne, where he attended the State Funeral for the The Right Honourable Sir Zelman Cowen AK GCMG GCVO QC at the Temple Beth Israel, St Kilda, before returning to Adelaide in the afternoon.

In the afternoon at Government House Mrs Scarce hosted a luncheon for His Excellency Mr Michael Small, High Commissioner of Canada and Ms Denise Jacques.  Another guest was Mr Justin Ferravant, a participant in the Governor's Leadership Foundation program.

Later the Governor received Mr Andrew Sincock, Mr Peter Thompson and Mr Stan Benjamin of the Steering Committee for the inaugural American River Festival.

In the evening the Governor and Mrs Scarce hosted a reception to thank volunteers of the Charity Connection shop.

On Monday morning His Excellency the Governor and Mrs Scarce returned to Adelaide from Mount Gambier.

In the evening the Governor and Mrs Scarce attended the annual Christmas Concert of the Band of the South Australia Police at the Adelaide Town Hall.

In the morning community volunteers toured Government House.

On Sunday morning His Excellency the Governor and Mrs Scarce departed Adelaide for Mount Gambier.

In the afternoon the Governor and Mrs Scarce, as guests of His Worship the Mayor of the City of Mount Gambier, Mr Steve Perryman, attended a luncheon at City Hall, Mount Gambier.

Afterwards the Governor and Mrs Scarce toured the Main Corner Development site prior to its official opening ceremony, at which the Governor addressed the gathering.

Later the Governor and Mrs Scarce toured the old Mount Gambier Hospital and former School of Nursing.

In the evening the Governor and Mrs Scarce attended a dinner at City Hall, hosted by His Worship the Mayor, and afterwards attended the Blue Lake Carols at the Garden Cave.

On Thursday morning at Government House His Excellency the Governor presided over a meeting of the Executive Council.

Afterwards the Governor, as patron of the Service to Youth Council, visited the Council's northern suburbs service facility at Smithfield.

In the afternoon the Governor and Mrs Scarce hosted a luncheon for Her Excellency Mrs Eva Ponomarenkova, Ambassador of the Slovak Republic and Mr I Ponomarenkova.  Other guests included Mrs J Coombe and Mrs S Andersons, participants in the Governor's Leadership Foundation program.

His Excellency the Governor has appointed the Honourable Chief Justice John Doyle, as Governor's Deputy from 6:00 pm on Thursday 8th December until 6:00 pm on Saturday 10th December 2011, during his absence on leave.

On Wednesday morning at Government House, His Excellency the Governor received Mr T Piccolo MP, Deputy Speaker of the House of Assembly, and afterwards received the Honourable Robert Sneath MLC, President of the Legislative Council.

Later the Governor hosted a morning tea for members of the South Australia Police associated with the Trauma Teddy Initiative.

In the afternoon the Governor received Mr B Lott, President and Mr A Reilly, Chief Executive Officer of the Nature Foundation SA, and afterwards received the Honourable John Rau MP, Deputy Premier; Mr M Hinton, Solicitor-General; and Mr D Romeo and Ms E Handshin, and later met with Mr A Fletcher, Chief Executive Officer, Defence SA.

In the evening at the InterContinental Adelaide, the Governor attended a farewell function for Mr Phil Baker, Managing Director of the Adelaide Airport Limited.

Later at Government House the Governor and Mrs Scarce hosted a dinner for Dr Elisabeth Niggemann, Director of the German National Library.  Other guests included Mr J Bruce, Chair, State Library of South Australia and Mrs D Bruce; Mr J Porter, Honorary Consul of the Federal Republic of Germany in South Australia and Mrs M Porter; Mrs Alexandra Reid, Executive Director, Arts SA; Mr A Smith, Director, State Library of South Australia and Mr D Anderson and Mr P Goldsworthy, Director, Writers Week and Mrs L Temple.

On Tuesday morning His Excellency the Governor, as patron of the Tubercular Soldiers' Aid Society of South Australia, and Mrs Scarce attended a Christmas function at the Angorichina Building, Adelaide.

In the afternoon at Government House the Governor and Mrs Scarce hosted a luncheon for His Excellency Mr Rui Quartin-Santos, Ambassador of Portugal, and Mrs Ana Carlota Meirelles.  Other guests included Mr A Bolaffi, Honorary Consul of Portugal in South Australia, and Mr G Hays and Mrs B Dilettoso, participants in the Governor's Leadership Foundation program.

In the evening the Governor and Mrs Scarce hosted a reception to thank volunteers and supporters who assisted with the Governor's concert to celebrate South Australia's 175th Anniversary, which was held on 13 November 2011.

On Monday morning at the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Adelaide, His Excellency the Governor attended the 84th anniversary celebration of the birth of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej.

In the evening at Government House the Governor and Mrs Scarce hosted a reception to thank supporters of Art Gallery of South Australia.

On Sunday afternoon at the Public Schools Club, Adelaide, His Excellency the Governor and Mrs Scarce, who is an Honorary Member of the Zonta Club of Adelaide Flinders, attended the Pearl Anniversary Luncheon, where Mrs Scarce addressed the guests.

Afterwards the Governor, as patron of the Far East Strategic Reserve Navy Association (Australia), and Mrs Scarce attended the Christmas function at the Riverside Rowing Club on the Torrens.

On Thursday morning at Government House, His Excellency Mr Hieu Van Le AO, as Governor's Deputy, presided over a meeting of the Executive Council.

On Friday morning His Excellency the Governor, accompanied by Mrs Scarce, officially opened the 2011 White Ribbon Breakfast at the Adelaide Festival Centre.

Later at Government House the Governor, as patron of the Royal Zoological Society of SA Inc, received the President, Mr K McGuinness and Ms S Brown, Executive Director of Wild Times, Zoos South Australia.

In the afternoon the Governor, as patron of the Childhood Cancer Association Inc, addressed the gathering and presented awards at the Garrick Childhood Golf Day at Mount Lofty Golf Course, Stirling.

His Excellency the Governor has appointed the Lieutenant Governor, Mr Hieu Van Le AO as Governor's Deputy from 6:00 am on Saturday 26th November 2011 until 7:30 am on Friday 2nd December 2011, and the Honourable Justice Margaret Nyland AM as Governor's Deputy from 7:30 am on Friday 2nd December until 10:30 pm on Saturday 3rd December 2001 during his absence on leave.

On Tuesday afternoon His Excellency the Governor and Mrs Scarce hosted a luncheon at Government House for His Excellency Mr Ali Nasser Ali Al Nuaimi, Ambassador of United Arab Emirates.  Other guests included Mr S Alyammahi, Diplomat Attache and Ms K Wyld and Ms L Securo, participants in the Governor's Leadership Foundation program.

Later the Governor received Mr James Bruce, Honorary Consul in SA for the United Kingdom.

In the evening the Governor, as patron, and Mrs Scarce hosted a reception to thank supporters of the Asbestos Diseases Society of South Australia Inc.

On Monday morning His Excellency the Governor addressed the delegates at the Women's & Children's Hospitals Australasia 2011 Conference at the Stamford Grand Hotel, Glenelg.

In the evening at Government House the Governor and Mrs Scarce, as patrons, hosted a reception to thank volunteers and supporters of Leveda Incorporated.

On Sunday afternoon in Mount Pleasant, the Governor, accompanied by Mrs Scarce, attended the Centenary celebrations for Mount Pleasant District Hospital and officially launched the new book regarding the hospital's history.

In the evening the Governor and Mrs Scarce attended the annual concert of the Australian School of Performing Arts at the Adelaide Town Hall.

On Saturday morning His Excellency the Governor, as patron of The Naval Association of Australia - South Australian Section, accompanied by Mrs Scarce, placed a tribute at the Naval Association Memorial Garden Service to mark the occasion of the 70th Anniversary of the sinking of the HMAS Sydney 2 at the Naval Memorial Gardens, North Adelaide.

In the afternoon the Governor and Mrs Scarce, as guests of the Glenelg Historical Society, attended the Grand Claremont Garden Party at Glenelg.

On Thursday morning His Excellency the Governor presided over a meeting of the Executive Council.

Later at Government House, the Governor and Mrs Scarce received Mr Javier Moll, Chairman of Editorial Prensa Ibérica and Mrs Arantza Moll.

Afterwards the Governor, as patron, received Captain Barrie Newman RFD ED, Chairman of the Reserve Forces Day Council - SA.

In the afternoon the Governor and Mrs Scarce hosted a luncheon for Her Excellency Ms Koleka Anita Mqulwana, High Commissioner for the Republic of South Africa.  Other guests included Ms C Mthethwa, Second Secretary, South African High Commission; Mr R Gerard AO, Honorary Consul for South Africa in South Australia and Ms K Zola, Mr J Richards and Ms P Gorman.

In the evening the Governor and Mrs Scarce hosted a reception to welcome delegates attending the Federation of Ethnic Communities' Councils of Australia National Conference in Adelaide.

Afterwards the Governor, as patron of the Australian International 3 Day Event Adelaide, and Mrs Scarce attended a cocktail party associated with the event in the Deloitte Board Room, Adelaide.

On Wednesday morning at Government House, His Excellency the Governor received Mr Tony Piccolo MP, Deputy Speaker of the House of Assembly.

In the afternoon at the Naval Military & Air Force Club, the Governor, as patron of the Royal United Services Institute of South Australia, addressed the guests at a luncheon, hosted in conjunction with SAGE International.

In the evening at the Queen Adelaide Club, the Governor and Mrs Scarce attended the Christmas celebration of the Consular Corps of South Australia.

Afterwards at the Meridien Hotel, North Adelaide, the Governor, accompanied by Mrs Scarce, addressed the guests and presented awards at the National Search and Rescue Council's Annual Dinner, hosted by the Australian Maritime Safety Authority and the South Australia Police.

On Tuesday morning His Excellency the Governor addressed the guests at an event held to celebrate the 50th Birthday of the Elizabeth East Primary School, and to open the school's upgraded facilities.

In the afternoon the Governor, as patron, and Mrs Scarce visited the new office of Volunteering SA&NT at Victoria Square, Adelaide, where they met with staff and volunteers.

In the evening the Governor, as Patron-in-Chief of the Australia Day Council of South Australia, accompanied by Mrs Scarce, presented an award to the South Australian finalist in the Australian of the Year Award at the SA Finalists reception at the Adelaide Oval.

On Monday afternoon His Excellency the Governor attended a luncheon for Rear Admiral Mark Anderson RN (Rtd), hosted by Defence SA at Alphütte Restaurant.

In the evening at Government House the Governor and Mrs Scarce hosted a reception to acknowledge the women who have been nominated for inclusion on the 2011 South Australian Women's Honour Roll.
