The Governor's Sculptural Garden

Sunday 5th and 19th August 2018  1.00pm - 4.00 pm

Free Event - Open to the Public

This August, His Excellency the Governor will open the grounds of Government House for the public to visit The Governor’s Sculptural Garden as part of the 2018 SALA Festival.

Following the success of The Governor’s Sculptural Garden in 2017, more than 20 sculptures by South Australian artists have been placed on the front lawns of the Government House grounds in 2018.

The sculptures represent a colourful, striking combination of works depicting plants, animals, abstract shapes and more.

The open gardens will also feature live art demonstrations from South Australian painters, as well as roving performers who are walking sculptures, called the Roving OSCO Mongo Suits.

His Excellency says he and Mrs Le are thrilled to continue their support for the SALA Festival.

“The SALA Festival plays a major role in promoting artistic and cultural vibrancy and inclusivity in our state.

“This year’s sculptures are an impressive collection of works and there is something to capture everyone’s imagination.

“I am looking forward to welcoming members of the public when they visit the grounds this month.”
